"So... We're gonna be parents." Doug tried to start a conversation as they walked down the pavements to their residence though only receiving a sigh from Evie. "Whats wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"I- i guess im just trying to wrap my mind around the fact that..."

"We are keeping it right?"

"Of course! Doug, i would never abort. It's illegal here anyways. I love our baby. Im just a bit... Scared, to be honest. Unlike all our friends, we're not married yet... And I dont know if i can be a good mother. My mother, as you know, even though she was the most motherly of the rest, was never a role model and... I dont know..."

Doug wrapped an arm around Evie reassuringly. "You're gonna be fine. We can buy all those parenting books... But ive seen you with those kids you brought from the isle, you were great with them."

Evie gave Doug a weak smile, not convinced, but starting another conversation. "Okay... So... How are we gonna break the news to..."

Doug smiled. "We'll cross that bridge when we have to?"

"Okay." Evie agreed. "That way we can spend more time today with... Er.... Peanut."

Doug stifled a laugh before commenting amusedly, "Thats what your naming it?"

Evie shrugged and demanded that they go to the peanut store to curb her new found cravings, earning a laugh from her boyfriend.
