It was 6 weeks later and the royal newborns, Adrian and Ariana had been christened, while their sister Stella had had her funeral.

Mal and Ben made improvement in getting over Stella and they did still love her with all their heart though life had resumed as per normal.

Adrian and Ariana, nicknamed Ian and Ari, were healthy and lively babies, to Mal and Ben's delight. They loved their sleep and hardly woke their parents up like normal babies, they played with each other with only occasional fights and tears, and were easy to manage, not fussy eaters.

Lonnie was now officially 36 weeks pregnant and ready to pop, and had been quite moody but very excited for the arrival of her son. Of course, so was Jay. They had their nursery up in red, imperial looking furniture, with touches of Indian styled add ons. Jay hadnt been heavily influenced in Indian culture so he didnt really mind. Plus, he was only part Indian as his mother was American, one of the only things his father had told him about his mother. Lonnie, however, was full Chinese so Jay let their son have the Chinese influence.

Doug and Evie had been fine too, of course. The nesting impulse had kicked in, leading to Evie buying and making many baby clothes for their daughter, though they hadnt planned or decorated the nursery yet, which frustrated her, though Doug had promised to get it done soon.

Since her job didnt require much standing and it was just below her house, she still went to work, where many employees and customers had congratulated her on her baby.

Her abdomen was now fairly swollen, though not as big as Lonnie's or Mal's, it was very visable, and Evie pretty much gave up trying to hide it. That was the least of her problems. The big problem was her waking up to a lot of urine often, due to the uterus pushing on her bladder, and she had forced Doug to sleep in another bed out of embarrassment.

They had maids to clean it up, but it was still embarrassing.

Her skin had also started itching from stretching and she had taken it upon herself to search for and buying lotions from the best gynaecologists in town. The baby was very healthy, and that was confirmed by their visits at the gynaecologists, but Evie couldnt help but worry.

They havent made a nursery, havent planned a baby shower, havent signed up for birthing classes, or even give their child a name! Doug was much calmer.

"Relax," he had told a hyperventilating Evie when they went out to eat. "We dont have to find a birthing instructor yet, we can get the nursery set up in no time, the baby shower can be easily planned, and im sure the name will come to us at the right time."

Evie pouted but didnt probe further. Instead, she stole a few wedges off Doug's plate.

"Hey! I was eating those!" Doug said, feigning annoyance teasingly.

Evie stuck her tongue out at Doug. "Im having your kid, so suck it." She retorted smugly.

Doug laughed and wrapped an arm around her.

Suddenly, Evie's phone rang.

"Who's that?" Doug asked as Evie extracted her blaring phone from her heart purse.

"Hello?" Evie asked politely. "Evie speaking." She put the phone on speaker so Doug could hear.

The person on the other line didnt hesitate to cut the formalities.

"Evie!" He screamed. Both Doug and Evie recognised that voice anywhere. It sounded very panicky, not the usual happy go lucky voice, but still recognisable. It was Jay.

"LONNIE'S HAVING THE BABY!"

The phone went dead, leaving Doug and Evie stunned.

After a split second, Evie yanked Doug out of the restaurant and called for their private limo to send them to the hospital.
