Doug's heart had never raced faster, and neither had his feet, but he had to do it. Thus, standing up, he fumbled for something in his pocket, puzzling Evie, as she stood up too, under the impression that he had to leave.

"Hey, are you leaving?" Evie asked dismissively, staring half heartedly into the gardens for transport.

Doug took that opportunity like a flash and in a few seconds, he was on the floor, kneeling, waiting patiently for Evie to turn to look at him and his outstretched hand that possessed a small velvet box.

Traditionally, the sparkling ring, handcrafted by yours truly, sat patiently in the box, waiting to be worn.

Eventually, Evie flipped her head around to get an answer out of Doug, to find him in... that position. Tears of joy immediately formed in her pupils, half to thank her hormones.

"Oh, Doug." She gasped, in lieu of much verbal response. Tears turned her vision into a plethora of colours in whirlwinds as she reached over to ruffle his hair.

"Evie," Doug took a deep breath. "Ive known you from then you first got off the isle, and I've liked you since I set eyes on you. I loved you since our first date. You let me see not only your outer beauty, but also the beauty you have within. Your courage that day you forgave my parents, and that kindness you had to Dizzy and the children of the isle. You stood up for yourself and wasn't afraid to be confident even when everyone judged you for your background. You're loyal to your friends, talented in every way, be it design or combat. You're brave, smart, and soon we will be starting a family. I know you will be the best mother to our child, or even children. You're the most beautiful woman I know, in every way possible, so would you do me the honour of... marrying me?"

"... Yes."

Doug's nervous demeanour was instantly washed away by joy as she engulfed her in a hug, as close as her belly would allow it, lifting her up and spinning her around, before setting her down as they shared a passionate kiss.

"You can come out now." Doug yelled to nowhere as Evie laughed, signalling to the bushes, where a flustered Mal stumbled out. Soon, Ben, Jay, Lonnie, Carlos, Jane, and even Dizzy stepped out of their spots, not bothering to conceal themselves as they engulfed the pair in a giant group hug.

"Evie?" Doug had asked, as they lay in bed that night.

"Hmm?"

"Thanks for agreeing. I know it wasn't as grand as you wanted, but I just thought-"

"Hey," Evie shushed him, as she flipped around to face him. "I would have agreed to be your fiancé even if you proposed in the isle's dumpsters in a paper bag."

"Oh..." He trailed off, before smirking in the darkness. "So... you wouldn't mind if I took back the ring, right? It did cost a lot..."

Evie slapped him playfully on the head. "Oh I'm keeping the ring, whether you like it or not," she played along, sticking her tongue out.

"Aw..." Doug feigned disappointment. "Are you sure? Even the... tickle monster cant get you to hand It over?" He joked as he started attacking her.

"Hey! Use that on our kid only!" Evie fake whined, as she got enveloped in laughter.
