The Encounter

"Well I don't know I mean the anniversary is coming up and well my dad's a total drunk so if you want you can stay over at mine" I say to her, she knew that the anniversary was coming up soon, tomorrow actually it'll be fourteen years since the accident of my mum and uncle.

"Well we've been out here long enough and now I'm starting to freeze off my balls so you wanna head back home and grab a hot drink?" I say to her making her laugh.

"Why of course it would be rude to ignore" she says to me as we stand up and pack up the blanket, I look up and I see a wolf staring at us, growling as my natural instinct was to protect Beth, I put a hand out in front of her as I stare at it making sure not to make any sudden moves.

"Be very, very still Beth," I say to her slowly as I bend down to the wolf as it growls and snaps its jaws at me.

"Okay when I tell you to run, run" I say to Beth as she nods her head, "Run!" I shout as I push her in front of me, she keeps running as I trip and fall looking behind me seeing the wolf chase after us.

"Go! I'll catch up!" I shout at her as she keeps going, I get up and fall back down seeing my ankle all swollen, I groan as I look at the wolf, it's inches from me as I widen my eyes in shock thinking the worst as I close them, a snarl from behind made it cowers back as I turn to see Beast on all fours with it's fur standing up on it's back, I sigh in relief as the smaller wolf runs off, Beast looks at me and our eyes connect making the same sparks as they have been doing for a while now fly through me.

"Oh thank god, I thought I was a goner," I say as I wince from the pain, Beast walks over to me sniffing my ankle once I'm up as he whines when I hiss out.

"I'm okay buddy, just help me back to the jeep?" I say to him as he moves his head up to mine and I kiss his cheek laughing when he licks mine, his giant paw-hand wraps itself around me and lifts me onto his back as he runs to the jeep with Beth freaking out, inside it. I slide off of his shoulder as he growls lowly making me giggle at him.

"Thanks bud, I'll see you around" I say as I ruffle up the midnight fur of his head, he looks into the jeep for a moment before looking back at me and shoving his head into my chest as he seems to be rubbing his scent on me.

"Okay, okay, bye bud" I say to him as I kiss his head and he walks off into the night, Beth came out of the car and hugs me as I whimper a little from my ankle.

"We'll have Conner check it out, come on" she says as she helps me into the car, Conner was one of our friends since we where little, Conner is training to be a doctor some day and he's actually really good, like he knew that I was sick before I even did it was really weird but cool at the same time.

"Hey Parker" I say to him as I hug him, Parker was his last name as he and his little brother where over since we live down the road from each other, Conner was a big guy from his muscles and his height as he was over six foot while his little brother was still smaller then me by a lot even though his brother is in year seven.

"Let's take a look at your ankle," he says as he helps me to the couch, Conner's little brother Ronny comes and sits down next to me holding my hand as Conner assesses what is wrong with it.

"Look's like you've torn a couple of ligaments in it, I suggest ice and a day off of school" he says as he carefully takes my small ankle in his paw's for hands, I clench onto Ronny's hand as I close my eyes.

"Sorry but this will be painful, Beth! Grab some ice for me!" Conner says as Beth comes back with an ice pack from the freezer and a cup of hot chocolate.

"Here you go" she says as he takes a tea towel, Conner grabs my calf and lifts up my leg to put a pillow under it as he puts it down and places the ice on my ankle carefully.

"There you go" he says as I breath in and relax some more, I open my eyes to see Conner packing away his tool kit as he pulls out a bandage.

"What's that for?" I ask him as he sits next to my leg and lifts it up slowly flinching a little when I wince in pain, "S-Sorry, it just hurts" I say to him as I correct myself in the couch as I sink down, Conner scoffs as he wraps it slowly.

"Hey you got nothing to be sorry for, how'd you do it anyway?" he asks me, I look at Beth and she tilts her head a little, sipping away at the hot drink.

"We where out on the moon cliff outside of town you know our little spot? A wolf came out of the bushes and ran for us, Beth got away without a scratch but I tripped and fell over doing my ankle, then Beast came in time and the rest is history," I say to him as he looks up a little clenching his jaw as Ronny looks at me.

"We'll get that wolf that hurt you" Ronny squeaks out to me as I smile and kiss his temple, Ronny was like my little brother, hell all of these three are my loves. Once Conner finishes with my leg we all sit down on the couch and talk about whatever until my dad walks in stumbling around and too drunk to care about us being in here.

"I'm going to bed sweetie please don't wake me up!" My dad slurs as he walks up the stairs and into his bedroom, we watch until we hear the door slam from up the stairs.

"Don't worry about him, he's just worried about the anniversary tomorrow"

"You're still going?"

"Of course I am, I'm not letting a small thing like this stop me from seeing my mum" I say to them as I point to my leg that's propped up on the table in front of the couch.

"Well that's lovely but please for the love of pizza be careful? I don't want to have to get a call from someone to say that you're in surgery for your leg okay?" Conner says to me, I smile and laugh at him.

"Oh you know me all too well Parker," I say to him as he laughs with me, "It's getting too early you lot wanna stay over?" I ask them all as they all smile.
