"I sprained my ankle this morning running and falling over" I say with a laugh as she was silent still, I could feel her presence it's powerful here, I spoke to her for a while asking her about how I've been doing and how dad has been but soon enough I had to leave, Beast lifts me to my feet as he helps me crawl onto his back, we go the same way we came, jumping over the fence and running through the snow of the forest that surrounds us as we continue to run through it, we stop by a lake as it was freezing over before our eyes, his purr rumbles through his chest as it vibrates the hairs on his shoulders.
"Come on, if we stop we'll freeze" I say to him as he huffs out a breath and trudges through the water, his thick fur was a layer of heat as air bubbles caught onto him as he makes sure that the water doesn't hit me, we get out of the lake from the other side as he shakes the water off of him. We walk the rest of way as the cold hit him pretty hard, I felt bad for making him run through the cold water as the snow starts to stick to his fur, I lie on his back to try and keep him as warm as I can as he lowly growls through his chest, once we get to the house there were foot prints of wolves in the ground, he sniffs them and growls ripping his attention to the side as I hear something growl back, I slide off of him as I fall into the snow, he turns and stops growling as he helps me up and walks me to the door pushing me inside as he looks around, I lock the sliding glass door as I watch Beast walk outside and look around his ears moving around on his head as he tries to listen in on what is around him, I'm worried as I put a hand on the glass, my breath fogging it up from the cold.
It took seconds until my giant friend was thrown to the ground from two other wolves, a large light brown one and a light gray one all three of them snarling at each other, I put a hand over my mouth as I look at the size of them as they roar, I was half tempted to go out there and help Beast but I knew that if I did then the other two wolves would rip me apart like a sheet of paper in a shedder.
I watch in fear as Beast slashes the light gray wolf causing blood the spill out onto the ground as the wolf falls over as it's unable to walk on its front leg, Beast roars thunderously as the brown one backs off, the two standing wolves stare each other down for a moment before the brown wolf stood down and exposed his neck to Beast as he walks over to the brown wolf and growls at him biting his neck lightly as a sign of dominance, the other two wolves whimper off scattering into the darkness of the ever stretching wild.
Beast looks at me as I am about to open the door he walks up to the porch as I notice the blood seeping through one of his shoulders, his electric blue eyes seemed to be a little dimmer now.
"Chloe?" someone says, I turn around and Conner breathing a little heavy as Beast growls through the glass, I limp over to Conner and hug him.
"Where have you been? Beast was-" I start to say then the sound of a thud from behind me, Beast was on the floor as I freak out a little, "Parker! Help me get him inside!" I say as I pull Conner's arm to help me grab Beast when I notice his size had changed.
"Does Beast seem a little smaller then usual?" I ask Conner as I turn to face him, his eyes where wide as I turn back to see a man with a ripped apart shoulder.
"Parker!" I say knocking him back to reality as I open the glass door and get Conner to help me drag the man inside, we pour him onto the couch as I look at his arm.
"Quick! You're the training to be a doctor! Help me get him some stuff!" I say to Conner as he runs up the stairs and into my bathroom to grab the first aid kit, I turn back to the man on the couch and notice his dark hair, I notice that he looks a little like Beast.
"I'm back" he says as he puts the kit down, I move out of his way as he starts to stitch his shoulder up, "Chloe? Can I get you to grab me some tea towels and a boiling cup of water?" Conner says to me, I do as I'm told and I pace to the kitchen grabbing what he asked for, once I get back into the living room Conner was almost done with the stitching.
"There" he says, an hour had past since the man on the couch fell, Conner was drying his hands as they stain with the blood of the man.
"Who is he?" I ask him not knowing who he was; Conner raises an eyebrow at me.
"Can't you recognize your own beast?" he says to me, I turn back to the way of the living room and connect the dots.
