"Ally?" Her Mom asked. "You have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Sorry I forgot to tell you sooner, dear."
Ally had been home for only a few minutes before she heard the news. "Okay, what time?"
"Ten." Her Mom replied, sitting down in her chair and picking up a book.
Ally went up the stairs and gently shut her door. She was scared now. Going to the doctor's means that they'd tell her about her condition, if she was worse of not. She would've normally been happy, because she just had gone somewhere with Gerard, but the news kind of killed the mood.
She lay her back on her bed, and sighed. She didn't really want to hear how long she had left. She knew that she didn't have much of a chance of getting better, so what was the point?
"I should call Gerard, right?" She asked herself as she flipped her phone open. "Wait, no. I don't wanna bother him right now though. But he probably would want me to call him though. Hmm, what would he say if he were here? Ugh! I am so bad at making decisions when it comes to Gerard! F it." She put his number in.
"What's up, Ally?" He asked.
"Sorry to bother you, but the good mood was totally killed, brutally." She explained.
"What happened?" He asked as he held the phone between his shoulder and ear, and opened a can of soda.
"My Mom said that I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. And that means more bad news usually. And now I've gotten myself all worked up and nervous."
"You'll be okay, Al." He said, before taking a sip of his drink. "If you want, I can come with you?"
"Oh, Gerard you don't need to do that." She said, laying back down. "You have your own life."
"Ha, right." He sarcastically said. "If you call reading comics and driving your little brother around as a life, then hell yes! I have the most exciting life ever!"
She couldn't help but laugh. "Okay then, if you want to. It's at ten, we'll probably leave at like, nine forty five thought. It's a few minutes away."
"I'll be there at nine thirty. See ya then." He said. "Bye."
"Thanks, Gerard. Bye" And with that, he hung up.
She smiled, and placed her phone back on her nightstand. Then, she realized that she felt happier and not as anxious. "How does he do that!?" She asked herself. "He said like, ten words."

She went down to join her family for dinner. They were having chicken noodle soup, so the kid's mouths were watering.
"Here you go, Ally." Her Mom said, putting chocolate milk in front of her. She gave the kids juice.
"So, Ally," her Mom broke the somewhat awkward silence at the table with, "where did you go earlier?"
"Gerard took me to Amelia Pond." Ally answered.
"You go there a lot." Her Mom said, after taking a bite of food. "What do you even do? Would seem pretty boring if I were a teenager."
"Well, we talk usually. I fed ducks a few times." She explained. "It's not boring at all actually."
"So, your father and I have been wondering, why do you like that boy so much?"
Ally's eyes widened but no one saw since she was looking down at her soup. "He's a great friend. He's really nice and can make me smile." She said, andcouldn't help but smile. "Oh, and he wanted to come tomorrow when I go to the doctor, is that alright?"
"Well, Dad is staying home with the kids and I'm taking you." Her Mom explained. "I mean, I guess it'd be alright. As long as you think it would be a good idea."
"Good!" Ally said, her face lighting up. "He said he'd be here at nine thirty."
********************************************
Ally went to bed, and was happy that her Mom was trying to give Gerard a chance. In the morning, she woke up and saw that it was nine fifteen. He would be there soon, so she jumped out of bed, slipped on her skinny jeans and a red sweater that was long enough to go past her hips. It was a bit too big for her. But, that was the idea. She went down stairs and ate some toast and a granola bar. After ten minutes she hear a knock on the door.
She went to answer it. "Hey Gerard!" She said with a smile.
"Hey Ally!" He said, returning the smile.
"Come on in." She said, leading him to the table, where she had been sitting.
He sat right next to her, and her Dad was across the table from them, but he didn't really look up from his news paper.
"We're leaving now, Ally." Her Mom said, grabbing her purse.
"C'mon, Gerard." Ally said, standing up.
They got into their grey van and drove off. Ally sat in the back seat with Gerard. The car was silent for awhile. They sat right next to each other, and Gerard grabbed her hand. She didn't mind at all. Her Mom looked in the rear view mirror at them, they didn't notice, and she saw them holding hands. she raised an eyebrow, and turning back to the road, she sighed.
