She quickly turned around and ran after Gerard. She caught up with him just in time, he was by his car door, getting ready to open it.
"Gerard!" She said, approaching him. "What?"
He stared into her eyes, still with that holding back tears look on his face. He turned away, quickly got in his car, and drove away onto the dark street. The only light was a few street lights. She folded her arms and rubbed them, it was cold. She went into the house. Her Dad was sitting in a chair watching TV with her Mom, as nothing just happened.
"What the hell did you do to him?!" She yelled. Her Mom turned around, shocked by her sudden explosion.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Dad! What. Did. You. Do?!" Ally repeated.
"I told him what he needed to hear." He replied, not even facing Ally.
"Dammit! What did you tell him!?"
"Don't raise your voice to me." He said, standing up. Her Mom turned off the TV. She didn't know what was going on.
"What did you say to him?" Ally said, tighten her jaw with tears starting to fill her eyes.
"I told him to stay the hell away from my little girl." He replied.
"Yeah, but probably not in those exact words." With that, Ally turned and ran out the door.
"Ally!" Her Dad said, running after her.
She ran even faster, brushing up against tree branches and bushes. He lost sight of her on the dark street.
***********************************
She crossed her arms as she walked down the chilly, dark streets. Tears rolled down her face at the thought of losing Gerard. She felt really bad for him. What did her Dad say to him that made him so upset?
She finally reached Gerard's house. His car was there. She walked to the door. She was about to knock, when she realized that his family was probably asleep. She looked at her watch,
11:36pm
She knocked anyway.
*Knock knock*
She heard someone walking to the door. When it opened, she saw that it was Gerard. He was in a grey T-shirt and blue and black plaid pants. He was obviously dressed for bed.
"Ally?" He said. "W-what are you going here?"
She went up to him and hugged him, tightly wrapping her arms around the back of neck. He returned the hug, putting his face to the side of her neck.
"But what are you doing here?" He asked, breaking the hug, but keeping his hands on her waist. "How did you get here?"
"I walked." She explained "Look, whatever my Dad said to you, I'm so sorry....."
He interrupted her by kissing her! She was shocked for a moment, and froze up. Then she realized that that's what she wanted, but why?-Was what she was wondering. She placed a hand on the back of his neck, pulling him a bit closer.
"Who's at the door....?" Gerard's Mom asked as rounded the corner tightening he bathrobe, but she stopped herself, and backed away out of sight, seeing who was at the door.
Gerard and Ally pulled away from each other, he kept his hands on her waist for a moment, probably not even realizing it.
"It's kinda cold out here." He said, letting her go and wiping his mouth with his arm. "C'mon in and I'll attempt to make you some hot chocolate.
She followed him into the kitchen after shutting the door quietly.
She sat at the table as he got a cup out and put milk in it, followed by chocolate syrup, then he put in the microwave. When it was done, he took it over to her, only to find that her head was laying on the table, and she was asleep.
He quietly laughed and smiled. He sat down, the corner of the table separating them, and took a sip of the drink that was meant for her. Her hair fell in front of her face, he gently tucked it behind her ear, and with a slight smile, he kissed the side of her head.
*****************************************************
She stretched and opened her eyes. Her eyes widened, the room she was in didn't look familiar at all. It was dark, with only one small area that sunlight shone through. She shot up in bed.
Where am I?" She asked herself as she rubbed her eyes. Then she remembered what had happened the night before. "I fell asleep at the table, I think?"
She threw her blankets off, and made her way to the door. She knew where she was. She slowly opened it, hearing voices a little ways away. She walked out into the hallway, and made her way to the kitchen.
"Morning, Ally." Gerard said as he saw her. He was sitting at the table. The only other one there was his Mom, she was washing a pan in the kitchen.
Ally sat down at the table and rubbed her eyes again.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked, pushing a plate with a piece of french toast on it over to her.
"I guess so." She replied. "Wait, I fell asleep here though. How did I get in there?" She asked.
"I carried you." He said, before taking a sip of his coffee.
"Seriously? How?" She laughed, taking a bit of her toast. It was pretty good.
"You're not that big y'know." He said with a smirk. "I'd better get you home though. We don't want your parents to worry." He got up from the table and held out his hand. She took it, and he brought her in for a hug.
It seemed like every time she would go to help him, he ended up helping her more than she thought she had helped him.
***************************
After he got ready, they left.
"I wanted to ask you what my Dad said that hurt you so much last night, Gerard?" She asked.
"Well," he said, running his hands through his jet black hair, "okay. After you left he came over to me and was telling me to stay away from you. He told me why too."
"Why?"
He cleared his throat. "One reason was he said that if I develop feelings for you, then when it's time for you to, well, y'know, it would be really hard on me, and apparently I don't have to put myself through that pain, as he put it. The other reason was, he didn't want it to be any harder for you. No more to lose than necessary, he said. So, basically, he had good reasons, but then again, he had shitty reasons."
What do you mean?" She asked, glancing over at him.
"He said, 'if I develop feelings for you." He said, keeping his eyes locked on the road.
She sat in silence for a moment, trying to understand what he meant. "What do you mean?"
He looked over at her with a smile. " He said, if I develop feelings for you." He repeated. "It's too late."
