"You'd do that?" She asked, shocked by his offer. "But you have a life, why would you do that, for me?"

"Because I want to." He firmly but tenderly replied.

"You just passed my house, Gerard." She pointed out.

"I know." He said. "You don't mind if we pick up Mikey first, do you?"

"No, it's fine."

He pulled over to the curb, outside of a comic book store. Mikey was waiting for them, and hopped in the car as soon as they pulled up. He sat behind the driver seat.

"Hey Ally." He said, the corners of his lips slightly turned up.

"Hi Mikey." She replied with a smile.

The car was silent for awhile. Mikey twiddled his thumbs, as if he were in deep thought about what to say next.

"So Mikes." Gerard said, looking at him through the rear view mirror. "What was it you were saying about Ally the other day." A smile appeared on Gerard's lips as he said this and glanced over to Ally. She met his gaze and returned a curious smile.

"W-What are you talking about, Gerard?" Mikey nervously said, pushing his glasses up a bit.

"Y'know, the other day." Gerard continued. "When we got home after you two met at Amelia Pond."

"The pond." Mikey muttered, trying to act like he didn't remember. "I-I don't know what you're talking about."

"Okay then." Gerard said with a laugh. "I have to pick up my mother as well, Ally. But if you need to get home like right now, she can wait a few minutes."

"No no no, it's okay." Ally explained. "I'll be fine."

He made a sharp turn that threw them against their windows. And outside a grocery store, waited a woman, with blonde hair, playing with her nails. She stood up at the sight of his car. It was obviously his Mom.

"Hey Ally?" Gerard asked. "Can you sit back there with Mikey?"

"Sure." She said getting out and leaving the door open for his Mom, who was only a few feet away.

"Thank you, Gerard." His mom said, getting in and buckling up.

"No problem, Mom." He replied. "Home?"

"Yes." She said, placing the groceries on her lap. "So, this must be Ally. The one who Mikey talks about?"

"Mom!" Mikey said with embarrassment.

"Yep." Gerard said, looking at Ally through the rear view mirror. "Ally, this is my Mom."

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Way." Ally said with a smile.

"I've heard about from my boy here." She said, gesturing to Mikey. "And from what I've heard, you're a very sweet girl."

Ally blushed and Mikey buried his head in his hands. Gerard and his Mom chatted back and forth, Ally wasn't really paying attention to the conversation. After a few minutes, Mikey's head came out of hiding.

"Hey." He said to Ally, he wasn't paying any attention to his Mom and brother's conversation either. "Do you...." He cleared his throat nervously. "Do you want to go to dinner or something?"

"Uh, sure, Mikey." She replied. "When?"

"Tonight? Uh pick you up at six?"

"Okay, sounds good."
