Chapter 17

Riker pulled me close to him, our noses almost touching and....right at that moment Rocky came barreling down the slide and landed so close to us we ended up being pushed underwater and separated by his waves. "Did I interrupt something bro?" Rocky asked when we all surfaced, a smirk firmly planted on his face. Riker sent him a quick glare before swimming away towards the side of the pool to go on another ride.

Rocky turned his smirking face to me, I turned and swam towards the edge closest to me before climbing out of the pool and heading to the next slide. I looked around for Riker but didn't see him, if Rocky didn't come down the slide..what would've happened? Would Riker have kissed me? Was he pulling me out of the way so Rocky didn't hit me?

I went up the stairs of the next slide, Riker was a few people behind me but didn't say anything. The people between us were a bunch of guys who kept whistling and making crude comments about my swim suit.

When my turn came the guy who watched people go down left down the stairs to break up a fight. The guy closest to me came at me, shoving me against the railing. "Hey gorgeous, why don't we go down together?" He asked, getting way to close to me. "Or, you could just... Give us a little show instead." He said, yanking on the tie of my top. Right as I felt it begin to loosen Riker pushed past his friends and shoved the guy away from me.

"Leave her alone." He said defensively, his back to me and his eyes glaring daggers at the guys. "Why? She your girlfriend?" The guy asked snottily. "No but-." The guys cut Riker off. "Then it's none of your business!" He said shoving Riker, who tumbled back into me causing be to fall down the slide, my top coming off somewhere along the way down.

I surfaced and struggled to swim and keep myself covered, as I reached the edge of the pool Riker hurried over with a towel. I came out of the pool and Riker immediately wrapped my in a towel. "Thanks." I blushed, not daring to look him in the eyes. I grabbed my bag from my locker and ran for the bathroom, leaving Riker in my wake.

I changed into my spare clothes and sat in the bathroom for a while. I CANT believe that happened to me! And Riker came to my rescue, I hope he didn't see anything! "Emily?" A voice echoed through the empty washroom, it was so hot out anyone in their right mind was in the pool. "Yeah?" I called back, I didn't really wanna see in anyone, I just wanted to wallow in my embarrassment. "Is it safe for me to come in?" Riker's voice echoed to me, it probably wasn't in case someone came in and saw him there.

Reluctantly I got up and made my way towards the door, Riker had his eyes shut tight as his head poked through the door. "Riker." I said, trying to get his attention, his eyes sprung open as he fell backwards out the door.

I carefully opened the door to make sure I didn't hit Riker. He laid flat on his back on the concrete, people passing him like nothing's odd about a guy just laying on the ground. I left the bathroom and walked over to him. "Oh stop being a drama Queen and get up." I said nudging his arm with my toe.

"Help me up?" He asked, peeking his eyes open against the sun and holding his hand up. I took his hand and tried to pull him up, Riker accidentally pulled me down on top of him. My hands on his bare chest and our faces inches apart, thoughts sprung back into my head and tried to hammer their way out. Would he kiss me? Should I get off him and brush this off? Is someone gonna interrupt us again? Do I want him to kiss me? Does he want to kiss me?

I pulled off him and ducked away, blood pounding in my ears and rushing to my face. I plopped down on my chair and prayed Riker would sit down. Well he didn't. Riker stood at the end of my chair, inches from the edge of the pool. "Emily can I talk to-." Riker was cut off by Ross shoving him into the pool, falling in with him. Thank god for Ross, I do NOT wanna speak about that whole thing, I may just have been getting mixed signals from him and making me think he likes me...
