Chapter 37

After the group hug I made everyone leave. They had scheduled a flight for two days from now. I laid in my bed, wishing I'd never met R5 so I wouldn't be forced to live with this heartache.

All I did for the next few days was read, go on Instagram and do the tiny amount of homework my on set tutor had given me. I instagramed pictures of R5, most of them were of Riker and I goofing off. Those hurt to post, but not as bad as the comments that followed the picture. "You guys were so cute, what happened?" "I can't believe you broke his heart." "Glad you aren't with him anymore! You are toxic to that family."

As true as a few of the comments were, they still hurt to have someone post about them.

I was checked out of the hospital the day the Lynch's would be leaving. I checked myself out and took a cab home. I had my earbuds in the entire way home, listening to R5 and kinda hoping they'd be gone by the time I came home. Then I wouldn't have to say goodbye.

We pulled into driveway and paid the cabie. I got my bags and walked to my house. Taking a deep breath I opened the door. The house was quiet and clean. I turned and went up the stairs, my footsteps echoing through the house. I opened Rydel's room and saw that it was empty, I took a few steps back, my heart sinking. I fell to the ground and let myself cry, my sobs raked my body as I sat on the floor.

A pair of arms wrapped around me, I scooted back until my back hit the wall. Riker sat on the ground where I was. "I-I told you guys t-to be gone by the t-time I got home." I choked, trying to stop my sobs.

"You don't really want us to go, I-I don't think you do." He almost whispered. "I do." I said as strong as I could, Riker's face fell. "Why are you still here?" I asked, trying to sound like that wasn't breaking my heart to say. "The plane leaves in an hour, everyone went for plane snacks." He said, hurt clear in his voice.

"Oh, I'll drive you guys when they come back. No need to waste money on a cab." I said, getting up as I felt the rush of warm tears behind my eyes. I turned and went into my room. I sat on the edge of my bed, my hair over my face as I let the tears flow.
