I began to freak out as I thought it over. I'm bad for Riker's carrier, just like I had thought! My pulse began to speed up and someone far away said something.
"Emily? Are you okay?" Riker asked, touching my shoulder. I flinched and took a breath. "Yeah. I'm good." I said, my voice strained. "W-what are we gonna do?" I stuttered out. "Well, I think the only thing we can do is explain what's the deal with the ring. Maybe on a talk show or something?" Riker suggested, he seamed rather calm about all this.
"Yeah...yeah I guess." Rydel said, pacing a rut into the floor. "Del stop!" Ellington said, getting up and holding her by her shoulders. Rydel exhaled deeply and leaned against him, closing her eyes. A small smile flashed across my face at how happy she was with him, it reminds me of how happy I am with Riker.
I took a breath and calmed down a bit, taking Riker's hand in mine. He lightly squeezed it, I smiled and returned the pressure. "Okay, so talk show. Like what Ellen? Or something like good morning America?" Ryland asked, typing into his phone. "I think I can get Ellen since you guys were on her show before..." Ryland said, trailing off as he walked out of the room. I shook my head at him and looked over at Riker, he stood with his shoulders straight and tense. "Riker.. Why don't you sit down and relax." I said calmly towards him. "O-okay..." He said I could see he was going to protest but thought better of it. He may be trained yet! I laughed at the thought of that and led Riker to the couch.
"Okay, you really need to calm down Riker." I said as he sat down like a robot. "I'm trying, it's not working." He groaned, I sighed. And this is only the beginning.
