25. Love you

Edd's POV:

"That movie was awesome, Matt!" I said. He nodded. "I enjoyed it too, Edd!" He answered. "Should we go home now?" I asked him. He thought about it for a while. "Nah." He answered and smiled at me. I chuckled.

"Okay, what do you want to do?" I asked him. "Hmm. Maybe we can go to a restaurant! I'm getting hungry." He said. I smiled at him. "Okay then. And what should we do next?" I asked him. "And then we can go...to the arcade again? I really enjoyed it there!" He said.

I nodded. "Good idea! Let's go!" I said and we started walking to the nearest restaurant. I looked at Matt and blushed a little. I grabbed his hand carefully. He of course noticed and looked at me. I quickly looked away.

I could heard him chuckle. 'Cute...' I thought. I've had a crush on Matt. It was like that ever since highschool. But I never had the courage to tell him...until today. I wanted to spend this day alone with him.

We reached the restaurant and we walked in. We sat at a table for two and it didn't take long for the waitress to come. "Hello. Would you like something to eat?" She asked. Me and Matt nodded. She handed us the menus and gave us a while to choose what we want.

After a while, we ordered our food and waited. I was getting a little bit worried about the Tord and Tom. I would like to call them, but I forgot that I borrowed my phone to Tord. Matt noticed my worried face.

"Is something wrong, Edd?" He asked. I sighed. "I'm just thinking if the other two are okay." I answered. He smiled at me. "Hey, don't worry. I'm sure they're just fine. I actually think they're enjoying each other." He said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Huh? What do you mean?" I asked him, slightly confused. "Well, Edd. I ship those two together if I can be honest with you. Maybe they will get even closer to each other while we're out." He answered and chuckled.

I smirked. "Do you think so?" I asked him. He nodded. " Just imagine those two together. I think they would make a cute couple." He said. I nodded in agreement. "Maybe...we can help them when we get home." I said.

Now Matt was the one confused here. "Hmm? What's on your mind, Eddie?" He said. I blushed when he called me that. He realized what he just said and hid his face. "S-sorry about that..." He said. I giggled. "You're fine. Well, I thought that maybe we could help them to get together!" I said.

He smirked. "Hmm, good idea." He said. "I mean, Tom obviously likes Tord. I can see that perfectly and Tord... I think he feels the same way about him!" I said. "And I think you're right!" Matt said.

We talked some more before the waitress came back with our food. "Thank you." Me and Matt said in unison. We blushed a little and smiled.

We started eating our food and talked about how could we get Tom and Tord together. We laughed a couple of times and we enjoyed each other's company.

When we finished our food, we payed for it and left the restaurant. It was around six PM. I looked up at Matt since he was taller than me. "So, should we go to the arcade now?" I asked him. "Actually Edd, there's something I need to tell you..." He said.

"Hmm? What is it?" I asked him. "I'll tell you, but not here. Follow me." He said and grabbed my hand. I blushed. 'Maybe this will be the perfect time to tell him!' I thought to myself while smiling.

We walked and walked until we reached the park. I had to admit, it looked beautiful. There was a big tree in the middle and flowers were blooming everywhere. I always loved it here. "This is beautiful, Matt! But...why did you take me here?" I asked him.

He sighed and looked down at me. I also noticed that he was...blushing? No, that must have been just my imagination...right?

"W-well, Edd. I just...need to tell you something. I've been hiding this from you ever since we've met each other. I never actually had the courage to tell you, but... I just can't hold it in anymore..." He said.

I smiled at him. "What is it?" I asked him. He looked down. "It's just that...promise me you will not laugh at me or make fun of me..." He said. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "Of course I won't laugh, Matt." I said.

He sighed and looked up at me again. "Okay, here we go... I...I just... I love everything about you, Edd. Your hair, your personality, even your puns! Everything... But...after all these years I realized I feel more than just...friendship to you..." He paused.

I blushed madly and so did he. "So I just have to say..." He took a deep breath and looked in my eyes. "I...I... I love you, Edd!" He said. My whole face went red, my eyes widened and my heart was beating faster and faster.

Matt looked at me, terrified. "E-Edd, I... I'm sorry! I understand if you don't love me ba-" I cut him off by leaning in and kissing him on the lips.

He looked shocked at first, but melted into the kiss. It felt...nice... I was happy that Matt felt the same way. I was so afraid that if he turned me down, it would just make things between us more awkward.

But I didn't have to worry about that anymore. I was really happy. After a while, we pulled away from the kiss and looked into each other's eyes. He smiled and pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank godness, I was scared you don't feel the same." He said.

I chuckled and hugged him back. "Heh, I actually wanted to confess to you as well!" I said. He giggled. "Really?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes. I love you, Matt." I said. "I love you too."
