"How was the party last night?"I asked as I got in the car with Miah.
"It was aight, how was your night?"
"Good."I don't want to talk about what happened to me last night. Last night was weird for me. Aleja came onto me and the rest was a blur. I will not tell Jeremiah about this; we're happy together and I don't want to ruin our relationship.
"Okay, what the fuck you want me to do 'bout it?"We heard Miah's dad, Ken, yell. "The fuckin' cat is dead! I dug the damn hole in the backyard! I'm muhfuckin' ti'ed Nic."He added. Miah and exchanged concerned looks.
"Stop yelling before you cause a scene!"Nicki shot back.
"This my house! I ca' cause a scene if I want!"
"My name is on the lease bastard!"Nicki hollered over him. "Calm the fuck down, show some heart!"
"Jeremiah is a grown ass man! Fuck Ima show heart for! He seventeen and you need to stop babying his ass! He gon' have to get over it! Gon' be a grown ass baby—,"
"Just like you!"Nicki screamed, cutting him off. The house went quiet.
"No, don't come huggin' up on me tryna apologize."We heard Nicki say. "You better console him today too. And don't think you gonna get some pussy tonight!"
Madre and Ki walked into the house, Ki was carrying a black box and Madre held balloons.
"What's in that?"Miah asked them.
"Abel."
"The fuck is this!"
"Come outside."
We followed them outside where Colten, Shivangi, Denala, Nicki and Ken and Madre and Ki were. I looked up at Miah, I could tell he was irritated. He avoided looking at the black box the whole time. He was tuning out everything that was said, I knew it was hitting him hard.
"Would you like some time alone?"I asked him. He nodded. I let everyone know that he wanted time alone and we went in the house. Everyone parted ways, me going upstairs to Miah's room. I opened the door to hear Babushka meowing. She appeared to be licking herself. She didn't even come running to me, she just sat there licking herself. I made my way to the window to let my eyes scan the backyard. I was watching Jeremiah carefully as he sat by the hole his dad dug up to bury the dead cat in.
Leja: how's it going?
Me: do you really care...
Leja: yes😁I'm ab to ft(facetime) you
She didn't even give me a chance to reply to the text when I saw the FaceTime call trying to come through. Hesitantly, I answered and shut the bedroom door so no one could hear my conversation. Babushka began to meow, louder this time, making me look over at her.
"Oh my god!"I muttered, sitting the phone down. It suddenly occurred to me that she was giving birth when I noticed the baby coming from her body. She licked the baby.
"Ima have to call you back."I said, hanging up the phone. My mind finished processing the situation, making me snatch the baby up. I had to show Miah.
"Miah! Babushka had a baby!"I yelled, attracting the attention of everyone in the house. I opened the screen door to get outside with the kitten still in my arms.
"Miah!"
I plopped down beside him. "Babushka gave birth!"
He looked at the kitten, taking it out of my arms. "Must be a product of all the times Abel fucked her."He chuckled lightly. "Its a girl."
"What're you gonna name her?"
"Dina."
"Boy, it's hot out here!"I changed the subject as I damned myself with my hand.
We got up and went in the house, going up the stairs to find everyone in Miah's room. We made our way through them to see two other kittens.
"Damn."I mumbled. "Her vagina stretched out to the max!"Colten added his ignorance in the conversation, resulting in a slap to the back of his head delivered by Madre. He rubbed the back of his head.
Miah got down on the floor and I sat on the bed. "They're all girls."He announced.
"That's triple trouble right there."Ki replied.
"Do you wanna sell them?"Ken asked.
"Hell no!"Miah responded. "She lost the love of her life, no need to lose her kids too."He added.
"Are you gonna name them?"
"Of course. This one is Dina."
"I wanna name one!"Vangi came forward, got on the floor and stared at one of the kittens. Well, Abel died but he left behind three beautiful kittens. I'm not sure what's about to happen next but hopefully, this cheered Miah up to the point where he forgot sadness even existed.
