"Do you think she'd like this?"I asked, flipping the camera to show Jess the outfit I picked out in the mall, for Amber.
She squinted her eyes at the yellow onesie. "What does that say?"She asked.
"Boss baby,"I read the pink lettering to her. She shook her head. "Yeah,"
"Okay, I'll be home in a few."I told her, hanging up the phone. I went up to the check out line and placed the onesie on the counter. After paying and leaving the baby store, I sat down on a bench in the walkway to rest my feet and think. I've been at the state mall since this morning so I really need a nap.
"Yeah did you hear about that ninth grader that got pregnant, Denala?" I looked up to see two tall and slender chicks walk past.
"Yeah, what a whore, right?"The girl beside her replied.
I raised up just as my leg started shaking vigorously.
"My parents would bury me alive if I did some shit like that."The first girl responded.
"I heard she also got fucked by that fine ass senior, Carter."
"That's probably who the baby daddy is. Does she even know who her baby daddy is?"
"Yes, she knows good and damn well who the baby's father is."I interrupted their conversation.
"Who are you?"The second one rolled her neck.
"I'm going to be the person that beats the shit out of the both of you if I hear that rumor you just made up, go around school campus. Keep her name out of y'all nut smellin' mouths."I set the record straight because ain't nobody about to play games with my friend.
When I turned away from them so I could walk away, I made sure to flip my lace front in their faces. I went outside to my car, got in and took off.
"Why is my baby crying?"I questioned, sitting the bags down as I heard Ambers cries coming all the way from upstairs.
"Her colic likes to act crazy around this time."My mom answered. "I told Jess to try swaddling her since the pacifier doesn't work in this situation."
"Great thinking."
Skipping every other step, I made my way up the staircase and into my room.
"How's it going?"I started.
"With Amber?"Jess looked up at me.
"No, I can see how she's doing. How are you doing?'
"The doctor said I can get the stitches out in two weeks. That's pretty much the only news I've gotten today. What did you get from the mall?"
"A lot of shit. Hold up."
I went to get the bags then sat back down on the bed, watching her look through the stuff I bought.
This is gonna take a while, I thought.
Jordan POV
"Remember what I told you,"I unbuckled my seatbelt. Today, I bought Aleja over to meet my boyfriend so he can shut down any thoughts about me cheating.
"Huh?"She furrowed her eyebrows.
I pinched the bridge of my nose in aggravation. "You're an eighteen year old college student. You major in that chemistry class I told you about and you want to become an anesthesiologist."
"Right and that I have family in Oklahoma that sent me here to live with my uncle because I was doing illegal stuff."
"Exactly. Don't fuck this up for me Leja."
"I won't. I gotchu baby."She leaned across the armrest to kiss me but I jerked my head back.
"You already tryna blow our cover."I rolled my eyes.
"I'm sorry, you just look so kissable right now."
"You're gonna have to wait."
We got out of the car and I unlocked the door, letting us in.
"Babe!"I called.
"I'm inna back."he yelled.
"Come here, I'd like you to meet someone."I bent down to pet the cats and seconds later, I felt a smack to my butt cheeks.
"Stop."I mouthed to her. She smirked at me.
"Wassup?"Miah came over to me, pulling me closer. He bent down to kiss my lips hello. "This is my friend from school, Aleja."I introduced them. He stared at her.
"You used to hang with ole girl."
She nodded. "Yeah well me and her re-meet when I saw her at the school tour."
"Coo' coo."He shook his head.
"Aleja does not like girls."I lied. "And I don't like anybody except you baby."I moved closer to him, pulling his head down by his neck to kiss him again. He and I began tonging each other down, forgetting she was present. Aleja cleared her throat, making me pull away.
"I got you later tonight."I whispered. He smirked, smacked my ass and went to the back.
"Aleja and I are going out for lunch. Do you want something for dinner?"I yelled.
"Yeah babe."He replied.
As soon as Aleja and I exited the apartment, I turned to her.
"See how easy that was. He doesn't suspect a thing."
She just shook her head and got in the car. "I shook his hand and now I'm about to fuck his girl."She laughed.
I chuckled. "You've already done that. And I have to save whatever energy I got now, for tonight."
She rolled her eyes. The car ride was silent, meaning she was mad. I don't even care. She'll get over it in a few hours.
