Chapter twenty six: ARVC (part 2)

A-anong pinagsasasabi nitkng batang to?

Nakasinghot ba to?

Nakadrugs ba to?

Adik ba to?

Jusko naman sana hindi. Ang daming fans ang naghihintay sa kanya eh. Matokhang pa to.

"A-ano ba talagang sakit mo noona?" Teka ano?

Alam niya na ba?

"Oo noona alam ko na. Alam ko na kase narinig sa doktor mo mismo. Sa bibig mismo ni Dr Seo."

"C-chan..."

"Noona magpapagaling ka naman di ba?"

Nanahimik lang ako bigla. Sorry. I mean, nanahimik na lang kami bigla.

Nagpapagaling ako oo... Pero, mas nahihirapan kase ako kapag may kumakapit lalo eh. Oo alam ko dapat mas maging malakas ako para sa kanila pero... Mahirap silang pagbigyan kase... Kase habang tumatagal na babawasan ang chance na mabuhay ako eh..

"Noona... Huy... D-di ba?" I saw Jeonghan looking at me.

"Oo chan Gagaling ako. Gagaling ako pero tandaan mo, niyo, maghihintay ako na bumitaw kayo kasabay ng paghihintay niyong gumaling ako. Maghintayan tayo haha." I smiled fake.

"Honey naman eh..."

"What?" Tanong ko sabay harap kay Jeonghan.

Nakita ko ang lungkot sa mata niya.

"Noona alam ko... alam ko na ang sakit mo pero... pwede bang sayo mismo manggaling?" Tanong niya.

Pinaupo ko silang dalawa sa tabi ng kama ko.

"I'll tell you a story..."

"Story about what noona?" Tanong ni Chan.

"Storya kung bakit sumuko ang isang babae." Napatingin si Jeonghan sa akin habang si Chan naman sinampa ang ulo sa balikat ko.

"Answer my question first noona"

"And why? You already know the answer. But you don't know the reason. Right? Chan? Jeonghan?" Tanong ko sa kanilang dalawa.

Jeonghan nodded then rest his head on my shoulder.

"Okay... simulan mo na..."

"Long time ago, there's a 9 years old kid who was very happy everytime she's with her unnie and oppa. They live in Philippines and they have a perfect life with their parents. But one day... Her unnie fainted. Her legs were swollen, she can't breathe well and her chest was aching. They thought, it's normal, but still they decided to had check up...  A bad news came... Her sister have  Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. Of course she can't understand it, she's just a little girl. A 9 years old kid. But she knows that it was a sickness in heart. She always say to her unnie that everything will be alright. That she'll be fine. Her sister fought for her because her sister knows that there are people who's fighting for her. Fighting with her.

"Then one day, her sister got a heart donor from a family. Their son died and they wanted to help the sister of the kid. The operation was held on July 26, the birthday of the girl. She was very happy because finally, her unnie will be alright. And it was the best birthday present ever." I paused for a while and wiped out my tears. "But she's wrong. It was the worst birthday for her. Her sister did not survive. Her sister died on her birthday. In front of her, her sister left the world. After that they moved to Korea. She was happy when she met her new friends. Then 6 months before she move back to Philippines, she's confined with the same illness with her unnie. The first thing she thought is 'the end is near' she'll die sooner or later. That's why everytime that there's someone who's gonna tell her that she'll be okay, she's going to feel hopeless. She'll remember her unnie. She'll remember those days when she's hoping that her unnie will be okay. She'll remember that her unnie died while they're hoping. That's why she don't want her current boyfriend and friends to hope that she's going to be alright."

"N-noona... hindi naman ikaw y-yun di ba? Wala ka namang unnie eh. Oppa lang ang meron ka tama?"

"I second the motion." Sabi ni Jeonghan.

"Haha." I laughed fake. "Ako yun tanga! Haha! May ate ako. Kaya nga lang namatay siya nung 10th birthday ko." Sabi ko.

"K-kahit na sumusuko ka na noona... h-hindi kami susuko s-sayo... di b-ba Jeonghan H-hyung?" Tumango lang si Jeonghan kaya napangiti ako.

"Nagmana ka nga sa hyung mo!"

Nakasandal pa rin sila sa balikat ko.

"Selca tayo!" Sabi ko kay Jeonghan tapos inabot ko ang cellphone ko sa kanya.

Nag selfie lang kami nang nag selfie. Hanggang sa Dumating sila.

"Oy ang daya!"

"Kaya nga!"

Magkasabay na sigaw ni Vernon at Seungkwan.

"Tara selca tayo noona!" Sigaw ni Soonyoung

"Ako maghahawak dali!" Sigaw ni Seokmin

"No. Next time na haha!" Sabi ko.

"Ay hala ang duga!"

"Family pic yun hyung." Pang-asar ni Dino
