Toshiro and Renji were being held in a jail cell. “We demand to go after them!” Toshiro yelled through the bars. It was made out of seki seki rock. Ukitake sighed. “Listen Ishi and Hizume themselves didn’t want you here because you’d get in the way. The hollows have taken the appearance of their loved ones. What if one looks like you? Then you show up they’d be so confused they might kill the real one instead of the fake.” Ukitake said. “I don’t care I just have to know she’s alright!” Toshiro yelled. “They’re fine. Minor injuries and they are on their way to defeat the ring leaders. They just have to get past the guards and they can fight them and finally get closer from their past. Don’t you want them to have that?” Kyoraku said. Renji had been silent up until now. He had been thinking about it. Maybe he was destined to fall in love with Hizume from the start. And because he didn’t even try to stop her he could lose her now in a battle? The thoughts were killing him.

 “Lieutenant Abarai I know Hizume-sama better than most. It will not be your fault if she falls in battle besides she’d die content. She’d die with Ishi-sama.” Soifon said almost like she had read his thoughts. Renji sighed. “If I had only paid more attention.” He grumbled. “You still wouldn’t have known they are masters of deception.” Byakuya said speaking the truth. Toshiro was snarling. “Like you have room to talk they’re you’re friends aren’t they!? So why aren’t you fighting with them!” he yelled. “It was strict orders from them personally when they got the news this is their problem they do not want anyone’s help.” Kyoraku said. “Besides think of their honor.” Ukitake added. “Do you want to hear a story captain Hitsuguya?” Byakuya said out of the blue. Everyone was confused. “It’s about how much Ishi and Hizume will go to keep something from someone.” He added. Toshiro nodded reluctantly.

Byakuya was young when he slammed open the door. Hizume and Ishi jumped and they hid something behind them. “What the h**l you’ve been avoiding me all day!” Byakuya yelled. “No we weren’t!” Ishi bellowed back. “What are you hiding?” Byakuya demanded. “Nothing!” Hizume said. Then just as he was about to grab what they had when they jumped out the fourth story window and into the garbage can beneath. He looked down in shock. As they ran covered in garbage. He left and followed them. Then Ishi jumped him and nailed him in the jaw with a good punch. When he woke up it was the next day and he went looking for them. He found them. They offered him a new wooden sword. “Sorry we didn’t want you to find out we were making it.” Hizume apologized. “And sorry for the punch but you nearly saw it.” Ishi said.

“I got cold cocked in the face and it was over a bokken.” His eye twitched. “Just imagine how far they’d go for this type of secret?” he said. And it proved his point. They jumped in garbage and ran then he was nailed in the face.  For something as big as this they were sure they’d kill someone. “We know that they have high pride so we won’t pursue them mostly because they’d be mad at us.” Soifon said. Toshiro collapsed on the bed. He sighed. He wanted to see Ishi and to wrap her in his arms and never let her out of his sight again. That was not happening any time soon. Renji was also wanting, no craving would be a better word to see for himself that Hizume was alive and well. He had to know. “Can you please find out the details?” he asked. “What?” Ukitake asked. “Can you find out the details of their injuries?” Renji asked. Kyoraku sighed. “We can try.” Then the four captains left leaving the two poor heart sick men all on their own.

Later Rukia came. “Ah…here is some food.” She said setting the food next to each of them. “Rukia has there been a status update on Hizume and Ishi?” Renji asked. Rukia’s lips thinned. Renji sat up. “What is it?” he asked. “Hizume-chan…..has a deep wound. Ishi healed it as best she could the two are still in combat with the guards.” Rukia said.
