He was leaning over me. His mouth twisted with wry amusement, but his eyes burning, maybe wounded.
''I'm so glad you stayed.'' He whispered.
Reaching up, I caressed his cheek tenderly, enjoying the feel of the stubble beneath my fingers.
''So am I.'' I gazed up at him. ''But, I still need to think about moving in. I don't think we're ready for it.''
He smiled at me, but the crinkling around his eyes showed me that hew was hurt.
''I understand.''
I sat up and leaned over him, placing my hands on his knees as I stared into his lovely face. ''Damon, I'm not going to run away. I just need some time.''
''And I'm going to give it to you.'' He whispered, pressing his lips to mine in a soft warm kiss.
''Are you hungry?'' He asked.
''Yes.''
''You didn't eat?'' His jaw hardens.
''No.'' I glared at him.
Damon shook his head and rose gracefully to his feet. He hold out his hand out to me.
''Let me fix you something to eat.'' He said.
''Can't I just go to bed?'' I whined. ''It's two in the morning.'' I yawned.
He pulled me up and gazed down at me, his expression soft.
''No, you need to eat. Come.'' He ordered.
He lead me to the kitchen area and ushers me toward a bar-stool as he headed to the fridge.
''Pretzels?'' He asked.
I grinned at him. ''Yes, please.''
''So, what do you want to do today?'' He asked, handing me a white bowl filled with pretzels.
''Sleep.'' I giggled.
''Other than that.'' He grinned.
''I don't know...I just want to get through one day at a time right now. All this excitement is...tiring.'' I raised an eyebrow at him, which he ignored.
He looked deep in thought, distracted.
''Damon, look at me.'' I whispered.
''Hmm?'' He asked.
''Look at me.'' I muttered, a little louder than before.
He raised his head, beautiful hazel green eyes meeting my brown ones. ''If it means, that much to you, then...I'll spend the day with you.''
He smiled at me. ''That would be perfect...we could rent some movies, if you want.''
''Sure.'' I smiled, as I took a pretzel into my mouth. I was famished.

As soon as the cold air hit my feet, I immediately started to wake up. I was used to temperatures like these in Chicago, but somehow here in Rockford, they felt colder. I hoisted my hand up and touched the other side of the bed, hoping I'll touch Damon, but he was no where to be seen.
I stood up on the bed, still under the covers and called his name at least three times, before he stood at the bedroom door, with a tray in his hands.
''Good morning baby.'' He said, sitting next to me.
''Morning.'' I said slowly.
''How did you sleep?'' He asked.
''Really good, how about you?''
