Now I was in the hospital, all alone as I had to watch the paramedics stroll Phil into the emergency room and then into the operating theatre. In ten minutes I phoned up Phil's parents and gave them the shock of their life. I boarded them onto the next flight, which was tomorrow morning. This was a disaster.
Phil was rushed into the operating room to stop the hemorrhaging, remove the shards of glass from his body, among other things such as x-rays and MRIs. I kept pacing back and forth, thinking about one thing. Was Phil going to die?
The doctors informed me that the operation went quite well and so granted me permission to visited Phil. I rushed into his room and was lost of words when I saw him on the bed. His body was limp. I sat down on the chair next to him and stared at him.
''Don't you dare give up on me!'' I cried, taking a deep breath. ''Come back to me, please. Come back.'' I cried even harder.
''Don't leave me alone in this world, don't leave me with all this love I have, please don't leave me.'' I muttered.
I sighed looking at him, watching his body slowly rise and fall, as the machines kept beeping. I put my hand over his. ''Come back. Please. Let me see those beautiful hazel eyes of yours, let me see you.''
''I need you in my life. You're the most amazing man I ever met. Please, don't leave me all alone. I need you and I love you! Come back to me.'' My voice broke, as I cried even harder.
''What we have isn't perfect, but it's all I want. All I need, all I crave. You're my best friend in the whole world and you're my boyfriend. Please open your eyes.'' He continued to lay motionless.
''I wish you could hear me. I wish you could see how I'm lost without you. I wish you could kiss me again. I need you, Phil.'' I rested my head on his forehead. ''I need you. Come back to me, please. Let me hug you and kiss you. Come back to me.'' I sniffled my tears.
''What am I supposed to do without you? I'm breaking apart. Fight for me, fight for us, Phil. Fight for your life, baby. Please. Fight for us. You promised you wouldn't leave me, fight for us.'' I hated how he didn't respond. ''Come back to me.'' I slowly whispered.
The doctor came in. ''Ms. Garcia?'' He asked.
I turned around to face him. ''Yes.'' I sniffled my tears. ''Is he going to be okay?'' I asked.
''We're still working on further more results. All I can say is that he is stable. The impact was so powerful when he hit the ground which caused him thirty stitches, mainly on his back and shoulder, parts of his scalp. He also has neck fractures, he's lucky he didn't snap it, it was a very close call. Although he's not in a comatose state yet, his chances of walking again are slim to none.'' He trailed off, leaving me absolutely heart-broken.
''We also found something else...'' He said looking up at me.
''What?'' I gasped.
''Were you aware that your boyfriend has a heart defect?'' He asked.
