It was raining outside and the light was muted and mellow. I was cozy wrapped in sheets sleeping comfortably in my bed. I stretched out and rubbed my eyes. Glancing at my alarm clock, I saw it was nine.
I showered and dressed quickly, wearing the clothes I set out yesterday; black leggings, a grey sweatshirt and black leather boots. I brushed my hair and straightened it out.
Phil was sipping coffee at the breakfast bar, reading the newspaper.
''Morning.'' I smiled ruffling his hair.
He let out a soft laugh. ''Good Morning...your pancakes are ready.'' He said handing me my plate.
''Thank you.'' I mumbled. ''Are you working today?'' I asked Phil.
''Yes, I might head downtown to my office. I still need to finish some paperwork...are you going to stay here?''
''I think so.'' I whispered.
''Did Damon call you?'' He asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
''Eight times...do you think I should call him back?''
''You've got nothing to lose, right?''
''Yeah.'' I sighed.
''I have to go, now. I'll see you tonight or tomorrow.'' He smirked.
''Have a good day.'' I called after him. ''I'll prepare dinner.'' He turned around and flashed me his beautiful smile then he was gone.

My phone rang and wearily I lifted my head from my hands and answered it glancing at the clock. It was almost four o' clock.
''Hello?'' I asked.
An achingly familiar voice speaks on the other line, ''Sarah, I miss you, please come back.''
I laid there in silence, hearing him weep on the other line.
''I know I shouldn't have yelled at you. That was wrong of me, please forgive me.''
I sat down on the couch, staring at the television screen.
''Please, say something.'' He whispered.
''I don't think moving in together would be a good idea, Damon...I'm not ready.'' I sighed, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath.
''That's okay, baby. We'll wait.'' His voice low and apologetic.
''That's not all.'' I whispered.
I could hear him sniffle back some tears.
''I know about you and Brianna. I know everything, Damon.'' I admitted, tears streaming down my face.
''So that's it? You're ending this relationship because of a mistake I made?''
''I never mentioned a break-up, but I need to think things through.'' I ran a hand through my hair.
''Fair enough, if that's what you want...then I'll give it to you.'' He sighed.
''Is that what you want?'' I asked him.
''No.'' His voice is low. ''I want you to be happy with me, but clearly that's not working out.''
''I'm hurt because you never mentioned anything. You know everything about me and I feel like I barely know you at all and it sucks, Damon.'' I replied, wiping away my tears.
''I'm sorry.'' He apologized.
''I don't want you feel sorry. I want you to open up to me, Damon.''
