My feet were carrying me away before I was processing things.

''Sarah! Please wait!'' Her voice was so familiar, and I stopped running a hand through my red hair.

''What?'' I hissed, turning on my heel. Mrs. Anderson frowned.

''You can't leave!'' She pleaded.

''Why not?'' I whispered, trying to hold back the tears.

''He loves you, Sarah. He might not remember you, but he does. I know this is hard, I understand, but I'm begging you, to give my son a chance.'' Although her voice was soothing, I had no reason to go back.

''Sandra-

''Do you love him?'' She asked, her voice sounding hopeful.

I sighed, closing my eyes gently.

''Sandra-

''If you truly love my son, you'll give him another chance. You will do anything in your stead to make him remember what you two shared. To make him remember how you two fell in love.''

''That's it, Sandra. We weren't supposed to fall in love.'' I whispered.

''What?''

I turned around, hiding my broken heart from her. ''I don't believe in true love. But if I did, what Phil and I had, was it. True love is something that comes at you unexpectedly. If we hadn't accidentally kissed, we would have never fallen in love.''

''Sarah...''

My mind wandered to Phil's words. 'I don't even know her, besides she isn't my type.'

''I know that, Sarah. Phil told me everything. If I was another woman, I would have given you a piece of my mind, breaking off the engagement of my son, but you know what I said to him?'' She told me, her eyes luminous. ''I told him, that heaven was giving him another chance to find true love and what he had was nothing compared to what he's going to find.'' Her eyes started to get watery. ''He found you and now he can't remember you, but that doesn't mean he lost you. Does it? If you truly love him, you'll stay. Please, Sarah.'' She pleaded.

''But-

She put her hand on mine. ''I believe in you, Sarah. You are the best thing that ever happened to my son and I know he loves you. If you got him to fall for you once, you can do it again. Please, don't give up on my son.'' Tears threatened to burst over her as her words took me by surprise.

I pulled my hand away from hers, squatting. My head was in my hands, my mind was going to explode and my heart was in knots. I had to follow my heart, and hope for the best. But who was I kidding? Hope is a bitch.

My body ached recalling the feeling of Phil's touch on me, his lips on mine, his neck nuzzling mine, our noses barely touching. Tears spilled into my eyes, but I didn't let them fall. I could fix this. It was what I needed.
