The wetlands definitely weren't a place my wolf was accustomed to. He was undoubtedly getting annoyed by how his paw were sinking into the dew. He was much more accustomed to northern Florida's weather. It was more dry up there.

I let my wolf take control. We went where he pleased, sniffing the air as we passed by new sites and leaving our our scent behind. There were definitely times when I needed to be in control of my wolf body, but now wasn't one of those times. Plus, it's been a while since I gave him full control. During these times my human consciousness just sits in the back and watches what happens, making small suggestions when needed. Kinda like what he does to me all day while I'm in human form.

We stopped and sniffed the air. There were other wolves nearby. We decided to search for them, wolves were social creatures, after all. We also haven't been around many werewolves either since the semester started either. All we had was Kyle, and well, he was just Kyle.

We wandered around for a while, getting distracted by the wildlife and the different smells around us.

Finally after two hours, we found other wolves. There were at least 60 of them gathered together. My wolf and I held back behind the wildlife, watching. It was strange, they didn't seem to be apart of any one pack. Each pack had their own distinct smell and right now we were smelling quite a few packs in the area. This also didn't seem like a friendly gathering either.

My wolf was not too concerned with the logistics of it, and pushed us forward towards the group of wolves.

Almost all of the wolves moved out of the way sensing our Alpha presence, other's bowed their heads in respect. There was an electric spark in the air and excitement ran through the pack of wolves hitting me in waves.

My wolf moved us towards the middle of the crowd, trying to sense from the other wolves around us what was going on. If this was our pack we could just mind-link. Mind linking as a wolf was a little different than as a human though instead of words, wolves used pictures and emotions to convey feelings. Not knowing what was going on around us was putting my wolf on edge.

A small female wolf, nudged my wolf in the side with her snout. My wolf turned to where it felt the nudge, ready to tear into the wolf that dared to disrespect us. It was only saw a small wolf belly up on the ground. We nudged her understanding her peaceful meaning. She got up and nudged us towards where the wolves were all looking towards.

On a bed of rocks jutting out from the soft mushy land, there was a huge wolf perched on top. He had a long scar trailing from his butt to his neck, right on the side of his body. It was pretty wide too. There was no hair where the scar was so it was on display for all to see. He must have suffered a lot considering the length and depth of the scar, some things even our wolves can't heal from.

I looked around myself, and saw that all of the wolves around me were standing at attention waiting for the wolf at the top of the rocks, to give a command.

My wolf surmised that the wolf at the top was their leader.

My wolf started to get ansty, like we startled upon something. Even as a Alpha we might not be able to fight our way out of 60 wolves. We slowly started to walk back from where we came. As we retreated back into the trees, we heard one word whispered and carried over the pack by wind.

"Shift."

It was said simply and gently, but the wave of power that was emitted off of the wolf that had given the command had my wolf on it's back with its paws in the air. My wolf felt unbelievable pain fighting the command. A soft whine started to come from my wolf, as he resisted. It felt as if we were Atlas holding the world on our shoulders. We've never felt power like this before. My wolf was just about to give into the command, when the pressure vanished. After a couple of minutes, we go up from the ground.

Our legs instantly giving up when we put pressure on them. The command's effects still weighing on our body. Falling face first into the soft mushy marshlands, we lifted our head up enough to see that all of the wolves around us were now human. The wolf at the top of the rocks disappeared and in its place stood a man. Little scars covered his entire body and There was one huge scar from his waist to this neck. It looked like someone has been using him as their science experiment.

My wolf watched as the humans cheered and raised their fist in the air, not fully comprehending what was happening . I decided it was time I pushed my human side forward a little bit. As I looked through the world with human eyes and thoughts, I scanned of the crowd around me. There were shifters of all different races and creeds present. As I looked a little closer I saw specks of smeared blood on their bodies as well.

What the hell did we just stumble into?

The man that captivated the crowd now held one hand up, and there was complete silence. Not even a buzz of a fly could be heard.

"You have done well here today," His deep voice bounced off of the wildlife around us. He looked down on the crowd with a look of pride. His overgrown black mane moving across his shoulders as he talked.

"We are all one step closer to our revolution," He continued.

At the word revolution my blood turned to ice in my veins. This was not happening right now. Did I really just stumble upon one of the Doctor's psychotic pep rallies?

Realizing this a bit too late, I took a step back and snapped a twig. All eyes turned towards me. Shit.
