Two updates in one day?! Who am I?

_____

Ashlyn

The nurse led us through the corridors of the hospital. Almost all of the rooms were filled .After what seemed like forever, she stopped in front of a door.

"The doctor is waiting for you in there along with the patients." I nodded my head and she walked away.

My emotions were all over the place. There was just way too much happening. I was angry at Axel. Scared for my brother and dad. Anxious for the future and happy that Axel was going to be by side. I followed Axel into the room.

There were two beds in the room with a curtain between the two. Against the wall there were chairs and there sat Izzie, Becca and Kyle. My thoughts continued to swirl as I walked in but a voice drew me from my thoughts.

"Hey sis?" His voice rough voice came from the bed closest to me.

At sound of his voice the jumble of emotions instead stilled, and the only thing I could feel was relief.

"I'm so glad you're not dead." I wrapped my arms around his waist, trying not to touch shoulders. . My head lightly rested on his check. He chuckled and lifted his arm only to put back down. His face covered in sweat and the strain of lifting his arm was evident.

"I'm alright!" He attempted to put some cheer into his voice, but it was lackluster.I stepped away from him and just stared. Even in a hospital bed, Jason was still Jason.

"Yup, and it's all thanks to me!" The curtain dividing the room was pushed the side and Axel's sister appeared.

Now that we were in the light, I saw that she had the same color hair as Axel. He nose was a bit sharper though, and her eyes were hazel, with hints of green. Her hair was long and pulled back in a single ponytail. The ends of her hair were curling up with the heat. She was slender like a leaf, but seemed strong like a tree. A very strange paradox.

"The scratches on his back were deeper than I had initially thought. We had to stitch him up. They should be healed up pretty soon. I'd say within 3 weeks. We put dissolvable stitches in so no need to come back. " She smiled at the end of her sentence and her teeth were so freaking white. It kinda annoyed me. It was strange now that the emergency was over, she was very kind.

"Your Dad on the other hand wasn't so lucky. The teeth of the..." She looked over to Axel and he nodded. "The teeth of the werewolf went down to his bones and it tore apart the muscle in his upper arm. If he was like us, I'd say "Give him a week." But he's not." She paused for a second.

" We cleaned the wound and stitched him up as best as possible, but there's no telling on weather or not he will regain movement in his arm. The bones are practically shattered underneath the muscle. We would need to watch for his progress to know for sure. Amputation is only a last effort" She looked remorseful as she spoke.

My Dad might have to lose his arm? My legs began to feel like noodles. I sat down on my brother's bed in shock.

"Is that all?" I barely recognized the grave voice that came out of my mouth. Cause I don't think I could take much more.

"By now you know that we are werewolves, and from the looks between my brother and you. I'm going to assume that you are mates? Am I correct?" She looked at both of us.

"Can someone please tell me what the heck is a mate?" Becca butted into the conversation clearly confused.

"Really Beth?! Like that was the strangest thing she said?" Izzie rolled her eyes. Axel cleared his throat.
