Axel
The parking lot was swarming with wolves. Thank the Goddess I had my Alpha power around us. I didn't quite understand it, but without it I knew I wasn't going anywhere.
Ashlyn was silent as a mouse, she did however hold my hand throughout the entire ordeal. Which I decided to take as a win.
Her dad and brother on the other hand had definitely seen better days. I looked over at their passed out bodies on top of Kyle.
Izzie seemed to be taking things better this time around. Ashlyn told me that after the last attack Izzie nearly lost her mind. I looked ahead to see her ducking behind cars navigating us to the car. Whelp! It's just like they say. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
As we were walking Kyle's wolf stopped short. He was sniffing the air. I joined him and immediately smelled what had him stopping. It was the smell of a Alpha. There were two of them. Their smell was scratching at a memory I had. I definitely had smelled this smell before, but I couldn't place it.
"Izzie," I whisper shouted her name, hoping to get her attention. She paused and turned around. I yanked her back behind a truck, where the rest of us were hiding behind.
I put a finger to my lips as a sign to be quiet and looked over the hood of the truck. There right before us were two werewolves. One shifted into his beastly form and the other in his human skin. I knew immediately who they were. I fell back against the truck in silent defeated. It was the Alpha of the lunar Glades pack. The same pack that was just generously hosting me for the week. He was in wolf form.
Next to him was none other than the future Alpha of the pack, his son. Jaxon.
Jaxon was a tall man of 6 foot 4 inches with short auburn hair, the front of it flipping up in waves. He had freckles peppered on the bridge of his nose and blood splattered on his white t-shirt. We were about the same age, and grew up together. We stopped communicating around the time our packs severed ties, which I'm starting to realize the reason why now.
The Alpha's scent was different now then in the hospital room. They were probably hiding their scent from me yesterday. The thought angered me, they had this all planned out.
I felt a pulling sensation and a snap. My protective barrier had fallen apart. Well, that's not good. All my energy was spent. We were sitting ducks.
It seemed like the wolves were preoccupied with something. There was a body on the ground and the Alpha was enjoying his kill. Jaxon on the other hand was looking around, searching for potential danger.
He sniffed the air and his body stiffened.
I turned towards Kyle's wolf. There was no way he could take on two Alpha's. Maybe one but not two.
Izzie bumped into my shoulder a little and slid slowly to the ground. Leaning on the car for support.I looked at her. She was pale as a ghost.
"I made eye contact" She whispered it so low, I barely heard her.
"You what?!" I could spit fire. Who told her to look anyway?
"He seemed familiar though," she continued.
Ashlyn and Becca were tending to our injured parties wounds. They heard nothing of what was said.
Right when I was about to whisper go-off. I heard Jaxon's voice.
"Dad, I think we should move on. There's nothing here, with all that blood on you, you probably can't smell that well right now."
H- He was protecting us?
