Whoop Whoop! It's almost finished.

Screams ripped me out of my sleep. I bolted straight up, the creaky pull out couch giving way underneath me. Axel, feeling my sudden movements, sat up straight too. Axel looked at me with a questioning gaze, when another scream tore through the air.

"It's coming from outside." Axel jumped out of bed and peeped between the blinds in the living room.

"Oh my god." He breathed out.

"What is it?" I sat up, trying to get out of the squishy mattress. My knees sinking with every step. "What's happening?"

"Wolves" his voice lacked emotion. The screams soon turned into gurgles and then it was silent.

I moved around Axel's body to get a better look and stood in front of him. He pointed out in between the two blinds he currently had pulled aside. A woman laid dead in the street. Her blond curly hair waved around her like halo as her innards were torn out by a wolf.

I stumbled back into Axel's chest. There was blood everywhere, as her fleshy skin was torn apart.

"They won't come near this house since it's been bewitched. They probably don't even register the house in their mind." His voice was even and calm, but his face gave away his thoughts.

The skin bunched around Axel's brows and his jaw was clenched.

I glanced out once more and another wolf was coming out of the house across from our own. Blood matted his charcoal grey coat. I looked further down the block and there were more wolves. All just walking around the neighborhood with blood encrusted fur, as if it was another Friday morning. There were at least 25 of them roaming the streets. I'm sure there were more inside the homes of our neighbors too.

Axel turned hard as steel, a dark cloud settling over him. I sent a silently prayer that his sister was alright and all our family members who left to fend for themselves.

His sister was correct. These attacks weren't stopping any time soon.

"Well, this is going to complicate things." His shoulder slumped as all the energy left his body. I watched him walk back to the bed and sink down into the spongy mattress.

Every fiber in my body was telling me to go to him, but I felt conflicted. I wasn't angry like yesterday, but I also was still processing.

Our relation was strange to me. Maybe it was this mate thing? I kept trying to remind myself of who he is and what he is capable of, but I couldn't seem to hold on to the hurt. I had forgiven him without even realizing.

I wasn't ready for the life that seemed to be laid out for me. I didn't want to believe that all this was real, but I couldn't deny the tingles or the wolves I had saw. I craved his presence more than I would like to admit.

"If we leave now then we are sure to be torn apart. But if we stay here, I'm sure we will run out of food soon and there's no way my Dad can go long without seeing a doctor again." I tried to be helpful, but it wasn't working.

I walked around him and went to the TV box to check the time. It was 6 am. Everyone else was probably still sleeping. After the day we had yesterday, they deserved all the sleep they could get.

I sighed and went back over to the bed. His form still in it's defeated position. I sighed. I didn't like him like this. I crawled over to Axel and put my hands on his shoulders attempting to rub the tension out of his muscles.
