Ashlyn
It was the next day and I still hadn't told Daddy about our new additions yet. I knew he wouldn't mind since his company gives him free tickets, but he would definitely be interested in learning who Axel was.
I sighed. I was definitely not ready for this conversation.
Last night after our little heart to heart Izzie, Becca, and I talked the night away. There was a lot of stuff that I had missed out on.
Apparently Becca was close to making Dean's list this semester. Which was mind-blowing given her academic track record last year. Let's just say it's amazing that she was able to come back to school this semester.
My own grades this semester have taken a hit, due to my giving so much attention to Axel. Trying to get a boyfriend and being a Biology major were not working out for me. Even my artwork has been taking a hit. Instead of my creative juices flowing they've just fizzled out.
Becca also has been thinking about getting a job on campus. She said that it wasn't for the money, but more so to keep her busy. In my opinion, she was busy enough. Apparently she joined a couple of clubs this semester and is even president of one of them.
Izzie on the other hand has been talking to this new guy in her math class. She says that he's super sweet and is a Junior. His major is Chemistry, which is super rare to find at our school. Although it is a large school, there are maybe 100 chemistry majors. His name was Alec. They haven't been on a date yet, but she's sure that he will ask her any day now since they've been texting for weeks.
It's crazy that so much had been happening with them and I had no idea. It's makes me feel like crap to think that I've been missing out on so much because I refused to give up my pride and talk it out with them.
Apparently some of this stuff is old news and we've already talked about it, but I guess I just wasn't paying attention because I was so upset with them.
We ended up going to bed around 1 am, so I wasn't able to call my dad last night. It was currently lunch now, and I was planning on calling him afterwards.
I stood in the front of the dinning hall looking around, but I didn't see Axel anywhere. I was hoping to find Axel in the Cafe, so that we could eat lunch together. I've been searching for him all day to tell him about my good news, that Izzie, Becca and I have made up, but he's been MIA.
I grabbed a table alone near the window and dipped my spoon into my chocolate pudding. The chocolate was not consoling me like it had in the past. Where the heck was he? I had important information to tell him, but secretly I just wanted to see his face.
I've had this nagging feeling all day that I should go see him, but I couldn't find him. Maybe after lunch I will go over to his room to tell him my news.
I looked down at my plate trying to decide what I should eat next when I heard the chair next to mine squealing against the linoleum floor. Axel? I looked up to find Kyle putting his tray down.
"Hey Kyle," My voice oozing disappointment.
"Hey Ashlyn," His greeting as warm and cheerful as ever.
He pulled out a chair next to me. His tray filled with a slice of pepperoni pizza, chicken wings and fries. He also has a large Coca-Cola to wash it all down. If I ate like him, I would probably be happier too, I chuckled at bit at the thought.
I looked down at my own bland trey consisting of a pb& j sandwich and a apple and felt very underwhelmed by my choice of fuel. I stood up, my decision made.
