Axel

My wolf and I definitely enjoyed the view of our mate's backside. The slight jiggle that occurred with her every movement made me want to turn back into a human and well it best to leave that to the imagination. She wasn't a fat human, but she wasn't a tooth pick either. She looked healthy and rounded in all the right places. Her butt was especially rounded to perfection. My wolf shook his large head at the thoughts. He was right, with her Dad literally on top of me these thoughts were decidedly inappropriate.

Good thing he was sleeping soundly. Kathleen had gave him a slight sedative before we left. He thought it was to help with the pain, which it was, but it was more potent than she let on. With all the movements my body made, along with that horrible car ride. I'm sure his body had to have been aching.

We looked back towards our mate. Her brown skin was darkening under the sun's rays. She laughed, and leaned into Becca as a joke was told.

She's so strong. She found out that her mother passed away a few days ago, and here she was pushing through trying to be social. I knew that she was hurting deep down inside, but I didn't want to bring it up with her. It may prove to un-due this facade she was putting on for everyone.

She needed to be strong for everyone else, including her little brother. Jason constantly looked over his shoulder at his sister. Looking for cues of distress. When she had passed out crying, I'm sure it scared him. There were bags underneath his eyes, and I could tell that constantly talking to others helped to keep his mind off of things. Good thing Kyle was with him. That guy loved to talk.

My wolf pushed feelings of content towards me. He seemed to accept these humans as his own kin. He also seemed to like that his touch affected our mate just as much as mine had. Seems like my more beastly side is just as head over heels for her and I was.

I focused my attention back on Ashlyn. She stumbled a little as if she sensed our gaze. Although Ashlyn was no wolf, she seemed to be hyper aware of our mate bond. There weren't many cases of human and werewolf matings, but from my understanding the human never felt the bond as deeply as their wolfy mates. Ashlyn seemed to be on a class of her own.

Although I knew she felt like she lacked power, and that I was "overwhelming." I felt that with time she would come into her own at the pack. My wolf nodded in agreement and sent me a clear message.

He too felt that the position would mature her and help her to grow. He felt that we would both grow together.

Ashlyn started walking a little strangely and it became clear that she was hyper aware of our watching her every move. She seemed to be thinking twice before making many movements. We looked away. Her body righted and she went back to normal.

My wolf huffed out air. He rolled his eyes at her. He wanted her to be more relaxed around us. I had to remind him about the fact that she just found out we were a werewolf, like .2 seconds ago and to give her some time. It was hard getting closer to her the first time around. I thought back to our do-over. Now we had to have a whole new do-over, but this time it was with me as a wolf.

It was a lot to say the least.

My wolf accepted my response. He didn't like it, but he accepted it as truth. He too had to sit and watch as we rebuild our relationship.

. . .

We walked for a good two hours before the first break was taken. Then after that it became break central. It was clear that none of these humans were ready for this walk. My mate was the whiny-est of them all.

After the 3rd break, Kathleen had to let everyone know that we will be taking no more breaks till nightfall.

Almost all of the humans had emptied their water bottles. Good thing, I had stashed more in my own pack. I looked ahead and watched as Kyle carried the majority of our water supply and the tent.
