Listen up you queens, this is an important rule.
I am going to tell you a story. It's the story of what happened today.
SO.
Let's begin.
I was working today, scheduled from 11:30am to 8:30pm at Qdoba. Now, if you do not know what Qdoba is, it's just like Chipotle, except our guacamole is not extra. And if you don't know what Chipotle is, then imagine a Mexican version of a subway, and you get Qdoba.
So today our lunch rush came about thirty minutes into my shift. I was running register as per usual when suddenly a man came to me to complain that the strawberry flavoring was out in the machine. I wanted to punch him in the face because strawberry is not popular, and all I am thinking is "bitch really"? But, I smile and promise to restock. So I run to the back and grab strawberry syrup and then go out to the machine and begin filling. Now because our soda machine is unlike others and is touch screen is tech savvy, customers usually watch and ask questions. So I was not surprised when a nearby table of gentlemen... (ages about 40-50) started to ask questions. I go on filling the machine and one of the men.. (lets call him Bob) Bob asks me. "How old are you? You have the body of a 26 year old". :))))))))
BITCH IM NINETEEN.
"Oh I am actually nineteen". I reply. That was creepy. I brush it off and continue to fill the machine. I notice that the table full of old men is staring at me still. Staring at my butt, my body. Feeling quite invaded now, I say this.
"What am I? A show?" The men then all laugh and get up to leave. Before they do Bob chimes in again by saying "No it's just that I am watching my two favorite drinks: soda and chics!"
His friends all laugh again and they leave. Their table was a mess.
Now ladies. Food retail is never easy and unfortunately this is not the first time I have faced sexual harassment. Just two weeks ago, a guy messaged me asking for nudes and when I refused he offered to pay for them and then when I refused again he got angry.
If you ever experience sexual harassment or assault in any form, never be afraid to speak up about it. Defend yourself. Make sure you take care of yourself. I know it's hard when your confidence is stripped but sometimes it is okay and it is even important to put yourself before the needs of others. There is only one you, and it's crucial that you remain on this earth and live a thrivin' life.
If y'all are scared to go to your parents about it and need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to message me because I will always be here for you and y'all know I don't judge my queens. I love you all Xx
Be sure to love yourself too.
