COMING OUT OF THE DARK AND INTO THE LIGHT

EIGHT

The next day Criss felt down after the experience he suffered last night.  Criss was looking at his reflection in the water in his pool thinking of drowning himself  when the door bell rang.  Criss went to the door and standing there was Zeni.  "Hey Criss I thought we had a date last night".  "I'm sorry I had a medical issue to deal with and it slipped my mind to call you" he apologized. 

"I'll let you slide but you can make it up to me if you come with me".  "Why not get me out of my head for a while"Criss remarked.  As they drove Zeni could tell something was on his mind. "So have you heard back from Costa's doctor about you seeing him?" she asked.  "My mom went to go see him with JD.  Zeni can I ask you something?".  "What's that Christopher?". 

"Do you pitted me and that's why you want to go out with me" he inquired.  "Christopher I wouldn't never do that to you.  I've had a crush on you even before you became paralyzed.  Don't ever think that someone is pitting you just because you're in a wheelchair" she replied.  "You're not lying to me?".

"Criss I wouldn't lie to you now we're here".  Criss looked around and saw he was at a rec center.  "I know this place it's the Las Vegas ec center"Criss remarked.  "Very good my brother and I volunteer here but I want you to meet someone" and they went in.  Inside kids were playing or doing their homework.  "Zeni my favorite volunteer" giving her a hug.  "Thanks Justin you remember Criss Angel" as they shook hands. 

"I remember Criss sorry to hear about what happened to you".  "Don't worry I'm adjusting".  "I'm look for our magician friend Sean is he practicing in one of the rooms" she asked.  "He is actually putting on a show for some of the younger kids come on".  They got to the room and Criss saw a boy doing some magic tricks.  "Wow he's good reminds me of myself when I was that age" Criss replied.  Then he noticed some of the kids in the audience waving their hands in the air.

"I don't understand the waving thing instead of applause?" Criss asked.  "Sean's deaf Criss been that way since birth" Justin remarked.  "Really".  "Yea Sean was shy and felt like you do sometimes but when he saw you doing magic on the street one night.  Sean just fell in love with it.  His mother bought him one of your magic kits and Sean picked it up like that" snapping his finger.  "Wow!"Criss replied amazed.  "You see Criss even with a disability people can still function in today's world"Zeni stated. 

Criss watched Sean than looked at himself and realized what Zeni was doing for him.  "Thanks Zeni I guess I did needed to get out of my head and stop seeing myself as a cripple than a human being" Criss admitted.  "Now that's the Criss we know and love"Zeni remarked smiling.  After the show Sean was cleaning up as Zeni and Criss came in.

"Zeni what are you doing here?"his mother ask.  "I brought a friend with me and he wanted to meet Sean".  His mother walked over to him and told him someone was here to see him.  When he saw Criss his eyes lite up.  He walked over as his mother translated.  Wow I can't believe it Criss Angel my mentor right here.  "It's good to meet you Sean I have to say you remind me of when I started out".  Really you inspired me to do magic.  I think I saw your shows so many times I can see in my head like I'm there by myself.  "That's cool to hear.  You've also helped me get out of a hole so to speak and I wanted to thank you for that".  Me helped you wow that's cool to hear I just hope you start doing magic again.  "Thanks Sean maybe with some help I'll figure out a way".  Sean gave Criss a hug.  I have to go time to do my homework.  "All right see you later" and Sean left.
