A few days passed and Zeni noticed Criss wasn't himself she wanted to know what was wrong but Criss wouldn't tell her so she called on the one person who could break Criss and that was Klayton. "Thanks for doing this Klayton I don't know what's wrong and it's making me really nervous" she remarked.
"I'll see if I can break down the wall why don't you take Johnny to the park and have some fun with him"he suggested. When Criss came home he saw Klayton on the couch watching a movie. "Why are you here for?"Criss inquired. "Your bride to be called me," as he got up. "She's worried about you Zeni knows something's wrong but you won't tell her so she called me to break the wall you put up" Klayton stated. "I'm fine Klay"Criss replied.
"No you're not Christopher even I can tell you've cancelled your last two therapy appointments, you've been so closed off to everyone they think you're heading down that dark hole again after everything you've done to get out of that hole. Come on Criss what's wrong" as he went over to his friend. "A lawyer came and saw me a few days ago they want me to testify against the guy who shot me". "I thought he confessed to everything" Klayton stated.
"Something about his right to an attorney when he asked for one so the confession was thrown out. Klay I can't stop remembering those years the depression I had, suicidal thoughts, giving up magic"Criss remarked. "But Criss think of the great time you met Zeni, had that bullet taking out, you're not in that wheelchair anymore, and you're a father something you were always afraid wouldn't happen"Klayton reminded him.
"Yea I guess you're right". "And you forget that everyone will be there for you like they have been so when it comes time to go to court and testify against that ass hole we will be right there behind you and maybe taking turns beating the guy". That made Criss laugh. When Zeni came back with Johnny she heard laughing and saw Klayton and Criss outside talking while Klayton sat in the wheelchair doing wheelies which was making Criss laugh. "Come on buddy let's let daddy have some fun" and brought him upstairs quietly.
