Chapter 22

*2 days later*

Alx's Pov

Finally, after two days I'm back in North Carolina. As soon as I got here, I rushed to get my things and flag down a taxi driver.

Once I'm in the taxi and tell the guy where to go, I try to relax a little.

We arrive to the hospital in five minutes, so I paid the driver, got my bag and ran inside.

I see a receptionist sitting at the desk, so I ask her, "What room is Emily Rose in?" She tells me what room and I thank her.

While heading up there, the only going through my mind is if she's okay or not. Alyssa hasn't called me in the past two days so I don't know if Emily's awake or not.

After a couple of minutes, I find her room and knock on it. My mom opens the door and engulfs me in a hug.

"What are you doing here?" She asks. "I'm here for Emily." I tell my mom walking past her.

"How is she doing?" I ask on the verge of crying. "The doctor said she might not make it but the baby will." My mom says.

"Can I have a minute alone with her?" I ask. "Sure. Let me take your bag to my car." She says grabbing my bag.

When she walks out, I sit on Emily's bed and hold her hand.

Emily's Pov

Why is still dark? I'm beginning to hate the dark. I want to get away from this dark place.

While figuring how to escape, someone starts talking to me.

"Emily I don't know if you can hear me, but if you can then listen please. For some reason this seems like my fault. If I told you to stay home you wouldn't be sitting in this uncomfortable bed. You wouldn't have broken bones or scratches on your beautiful body. I shouldn't have left either, but I only left because you wanted me too. I'm going to wrap all this up now, but Emily I love you. You're my rock, you're the reason I want to wake up every morning. The past few months have been the best times of my life. I never wanted to see you laying on a hospital bed with broken bones, bruises, or scratches. So please Emily don't give up. Try to hold on for as long as you can." The voice says.

I try to open my eyes but it hurts. I don't give up though.

So I try again and start seeing a bright light.

After a couple of minutes, my eyes open. I see Alx sitting on my bed crying. I try to move my hand but it hurts. Alx noticed though because he's staring at me.

"Emily?" He says hugging and kissing me. "A-Alx. Where am I?" I ask. "In a hospital. You were in a really bad wreck." He says.

"I thought you were in California?" I ask. "I was but I flew back to be here for you." He says. "Oh ok. Could you go get the doctor?" I ask.

He nods and walks out. I feel pain shoot through my leg but don't bother to look at it.

The doctor walks in and tells me since I woke up, I have to stay here for another day just to make sure everything's alright.

He gives me pain pills and walks out. "Alx could you lay with me? This bed is extremely uncomfortable." I say.

He laughs and walks over to me. I make room so he can lay down. Alx puts his arms around me, pulling me close.

We lay there for the rest of the day watching Spongebob.
