Chapter 37

Emily's Pov

While we're watching tv, my phone starts going off. I get up and answer it.

E-Emily

A-Alyssa

E- "Hello."

A- "E-Emily."

E- "Alyssa what's wrong?"

A- "Curtis g-got drunk a-and tried t-t-to r-r-rape me but I ran away after I kicked h-him in t-the b-balls."

E- "Where are you now?"

A- "In some gas station p-parking lot. Uh, The S-Shell."

E- "Do you want me or Alx to come get you?"

A- "You."

E- "Alright. I'm on my way."

"Alx, do you think you could watch Andrew?" I ask him. "Yeh. Why what's wrong?" He asks. "Curtis tried to hurt Emily so I have to go pick her up." I tell him.

He nods his head and says, "Take as long as you need. I'll call if I need you." I nod and walk out of the house to my car.

*Skip car ride*

When I pull up to the gas station, Alyssa is sitting in the corner hugging her knees. "Alyssa." I say walking up to her. She looks up to me and automatically wraps her arms around me.

After a couple of minutes, I tell her that we need to get in the car because it's about to start storming.

We get in the car and after a while she tells me what happened. "Alyssa, I know Curtis, he wouldn't do something like that to you when he's sober. I say, calm down for a couple of days then go back and you two can talk out what he did." I say trying to help out the best I can.

"Yeh, you're probably right." She says. "Do you want to stay at my house until you're ready to go back?" I ask her. "Yeh, if that's ok with you." She says.

"It's fine. Even Alx wouldn't mind you vein there." I say. "Okay. At least I get to see my god-son." She says smiling. "There's that smile I've been waiting for." I say reaching over nudging her ribs.

The rest of ride, were laughing our butts off from telling the stupidest jokes. We pull up to my apartment and head inside. When we get in there, we see Alx holding Andrew.

Alx looks up at us and smiles. "He woke up but when I put him in my arms he fell right back to sleep." He says quietly. I smile and say, "Alyssa's going to stay here for a couple of days, are you ok with that?" I ask.

"Yeh that's fine. She can stay here as long as she needs to." He says. Alyssa walks to the kitchen and I walk over to Alx.

Alx holds Andrew with one arm, then opens his other arm for me to sit next to him. He pulls me close to him and we just look our baby.

"You know, I say we made a pretty handsome baby." He says laughing. "Are you just saying that because he looks like you?" I say smiling.

"Maybe." He says smirking. I laugh at him then say, "We should go to bed. We've been up for a really long time." Alx agrees so he takes Andrew to bed while I tell Alyssa we're going to bed.

When I get upstairs, I head straight for the room. Alx is already laying down waiting for me, so I change and walk over to him. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me close.

"I love you sweetheart." He says kissing the top of my head. "I love you too." I tell him.
