Chapter 66

*6 months later*

Emily's Pov

"Come on babe, just a view more pushes." Alx says as I grip his hand. "I can't do it no more, she doesn't want to come out." I say trying to breath. "Try again babe please." He says. I push again and I hear a baby crying.

I sigh in relief while the doctors clean her off and clothe her. They hand me my baby and a nurse walks up to us and asks, "What do you want to name her?" "Ava Grace Draughan." Alx says smiling.

The nurse writes her name down and walks back out giving us sometime with Ava. I see Alx looking down at us smiling so I whisper, "Go on ahead and hold her." He reaches down and picks her up gently. I see some tears roll down his cheeks but I don't say anything.

"I can't believe I finally have a little girl." He whispers. I smile and hear the door open. Mrs. Sandy walks in with Andrew and I hear Andrew say, "Baba." We all look at him and he's looking at Ava.

Mrs. Sandy walks over to Alx and Ava and Andrew tries to look at her. Alx bends down a little bit and Andrew bends over and kisses Ava on her forehead.

We all smile at him and he looks at me and says, "Mama." I smile motioning for Mrs. Sandy to bring Andrew over to me. When he's in my lap, I hug and kiss him on the forehead. Alx lets Mrs. Sandy hold Ava and he walks over to me. He notice that Andrew fell asleep so he picks him up.

He puts Andrew in the chair beside my bed then lays down next to me. "I'm so happy that we have another member in our family." He says wrapping his arms around me. "I'm happy that Andrew said his first words today." I say resting my head against him.

"Yeah, that was shocking. I about cried when he kissed her forehead, that was adorable." He says. I nod my head in agreement and he says, "I know you're tired. Go to sleep and if she gets fussy I'll handle her."

"No, I want to stay up with you and help you take care of Ava." I say. "You've been up for almost twelve hours and you gave birth. So go to sleep and I'll wake you when she's hungry." Alx says looking at me. I finally give in and fall asleep.

*2 hours later*

"Babe, babe wake up." Alx says shaking me lightly. "What?" I ask. "Ava's hungry." He says. "I hate breast feeding." I say grabbing Ava and feeding her. "I would've fed her but I don't have milk in my nipples." He says laughing.

I give him a look and pull Ava away from my chest and burp her. Alx helps her go back to sleep while I adjust my gown thingy. "The doctor came in earlier and said we could leave tomorrow." He says. I nod and ask, "Where's Andrew and your mom?"

"They went back home, she wanted to keep him for a couple days because she never got to and she wanted us to be with Ava alone for a couple of days so we could get used to getting up at night again." He says. I nod and look at the tv turning it on mtv. Alx pulls me close and we sit there watching Catfish.

*The next day*

"Put Ava in there first and I'll get in on the other side." I tell Alx. He puts her in the car seat and helps me get in on the other side of her. He starts driving and we pull up to the house after a little while.

Mrs. Sandy pulls up and we all walk inside. I put Ava in her crib and Andrew takes a nap on the couch. "I'm going to get something to eat. What do y'all want?" Mrs. Sandy asks. "McDonald's." Alx says. She nods and walks out the door.

I walk back up to Ava's room and stand by her crib looking at her. Alx walks up behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and says, "I'm going to protect my family until I can't breathe anymore. I know that when she gets older I'll be over protective but I promise I won't try to kill any of her boyfriends."

I laugh and say, "When she grows up, you two are going to be extremely close. I can tell by how you look at her and how she acts when she's in your arms. Just be prepared when the boyfriends come along." I say. "I will never be prepared." He says. I lean up and kiss him and say, "I know."

"I love you so much." He says. "I love you too babe." I say.
