Your POV
I groaned as I chugged down a bottle of water is one go. Sweat rolled down the sides of my face, and I wiped it away with the back of my hands. I was too tired to pick up my towel, which lay on the floor, two feet from me.
I had been dancing for a good four hours, but today was different. Thede was absolutely no improvement as I danced my routine over and over. Maybe I was getting stale.
And that was definitely not good news. I was the national girl's champion, and there was no way I was going to let go of that title, especially after the long hours if practice I'd gone through.
The annual championships were coming up in two months, and I still had a lot to work on.
Worry gnawed at my insides as I contemplated what would become of me if I were not ready on the day of the finals. If I could even get in.
"_____." I looked up to see my instructor walk in. I had not heard his knock before, and I bowed hastily.
"Annyeonghasaeyo, seongsaenim." He nodded at me, and stepped aside.
It was only then that I realised a dark skinned boy had been standing behind him.
His hair was brown, and so were his eyes (he seemed like a walking milk chocolate, on the brink of 60% dark). His face was beautifully structured, but the cocky grin on his face spoiled that bundle of good looks.
That haughty face was somewhat familiar, but I seemed to know nothing about him. Was he, was he in my past life? Gosh, two of my lives had to have him in. How wonderful.
"____, meet Kai. He's the boy's champion, so you two are working together."
I suddenly remembered watching the boy's finals last year. Much as I'd like to deny the fact, Kai was good. Top notch. Too bad his personality wasn't as perfect as his dancing.
"You'll be training together from now on. I expect you two to work even harder. After all, you're elites, right?"
"Yes, seongsaenim," Kai replied. His tone was slightly snubbing, as if he was the only damn elite in the room.
I could only choke on air, while my instructor sauntered out.
Why was life so unfair? Training with a jackass was going to hold me back, not help me.
I sighed. It would be a long two months, and I was not excited.
A wonderful way to start our relationship. As rivals and enemies.
Kai POV
I snorted as soon as seongsaenim ditched me. I was a pedigree dancer, unlike her, who looked like typical street muck.
She could claim to be the national girl's champion, but she would never match up to my standard. Add on the fact that I could dance ballet and jazz too.
After all, there was a reason why I was labelled a dancing machine. Right?
"______. It's a my great pleasure to work with the wonderful Kai."
She stuck out her hand, and I gaped at her. Did she just try to snob me?
I took her hand gingerly. "Kai."
"Do you want a dance battle?"
For a girl, _____ is surprisingly peesistent and brave.
I would make sure her pride got crushed. It was the least I could gift her.
