Pa POV
The grey sky comes to life with a loud rumble, and electricity flashes over the earth from the belly of overcast clouds. The wind god blows furiously, and the greenery all bend in the force. The shrubs seem to huddle closer together, as if holding one another from being uprooted. One can almost hear their painful groans, and the clap of thunder follows soon after. It bellows loudly and angrily, its furious call seemingly shaking the heavens.
Because within a few moments, rain patters down lightly. The trees stir loudly in the gale, and I shudder slightly.
The rain skims over the roofs of the dusty brick houses in the village, and runs off in bright red rivulets, washing the dirt away.
And as a flash of light lights up the sky, the rain suddenly falls faster, falling to the earth with a distinct 'plonk'.
I gaze as the black clouds swallow the bright sky, and the earth dims slightly.
The drums of thunder that ring out makes my heart race in fear, and I cling on to the cushion, desperate for some warmth.
But there is none.
When it’s raining like this again, I think of when we broke up
You left me, who was grabbing on to you.
The living room is empty, except for my lone figure crouched out on the couch. Everything feels remote and a deathly chill fills the room.
Memories hang thick in the air, and so do unspoken words.
The unspoken words of the man who had left me long ago.
You didn’t like me? Not even an excuse, and leaving me so coldly.
Where would Chen be after so long?
I look around hopefully, half wishing he would come back, even afterthree years.
My questions goes unanswered in the room where silence is still intact; but outside, the sounds of the rain drops pounding madly on the floor seem to mock me, because they seem to be calling out his destination with every hit.
But I do not understand the language of rain drops.
Where you are now, only this rain knows.
As the rain falls like a never ending sheet, my heart mimicks its movement, dropping to the pit of my stomach, growing weaker as time passes.
The rains stops abruptly, and the ground seems devoid of any imperfection and impurities. Its surface has been washed thoroughly by the rain, but all the dirt just runs deeper into the ground.
Like my heart. I have tried to rid it of memories and pain, but it just seems to seep in deeper.
My heart is like the rain, coming down crazily. Wetting my heart with the rain to see if I could erase all the pain.
A tears rolls down slowly.
A tear dropping rainy day.
Chen dances gaily in my mind, as if he is right in front of me.
A memory flowing rainy day
I utter a silent prayer for the rain to continue its domination of the earth.
