I stared at the door hesitantly, and looked at the handle.

Just get yourself in. It's not a death camp.

"Hello! Would you like to come in?"

"Uh, sure."

I stared at the bouncy figure that waved me in cheerfully, and followed him in shyly.

"Well, _____, look round and feel free to ask questions," he beamed, flashing his white teeth at me.

Oh, no wonder he looked so familiar. He was Chanyeol, the school's sunshine.

"T-thank you, Chanyeol," I whispered, but he had already tripped his way back to the counter.

-

I stared at the walls of the shop, where guitars of every size and shape hung.

Which one was an acoustic guitar?

I peeked over at Chanyeol, but he was grinning at the display case of picks.

I feared for his sanity.

In an instance, he bounded over.

"There! Have you chosen your guitar?"

"N-no."

"Cool! I can help you!"

I hastened my footsteps as he dragged me towards the back of the shop energetically, chattering hard as he did so.

"Can you play the guitar?"

"I'm g-going to learn."

"Wonderful! We can have a jam session when you do!"

"Ah, sure."

But I haven't even found a teacher. How do I compare with him?

He was unarguably the school's most famous guitar player, with his ability to play any kind of guitar.

I relaxed a little as he gave me introductions on the guitars.

-

The man on the screen strummed his guitar effortlessly, his fingers sliding up and down to press the strings.

This was probably a 'tutorial' for music prodigies.

I hoisted the guitar awkwardly on my lap and slung my hands at the front.

I placed my finger on the string and pressed down, wincing a little. I wasn't very used to the way the strings dug into my finger.

Taking a pick, I ran it against the strings like the man had instructed, and cringed as a yowl rose.

The guitar was probably groaning at my inexperienced fingers.

"______! Did your guitar explode?"

"No! It isn't an electric guitar, mom, and this isn't like some stupid movie!"

"I'm glad to know that, dear. But you need a lot of fine tuning. That wasn't very, uh, melodic. Practice makes perfect, so keep going!"

"Thanks mom. I know I'm awful," I muttered, falling back on my bed.

I should just give up this guitar business. I was a total chump at this.

I buried my face into the pillow, and fell asleep.

-

I headed out of the door, and walked to the mini mart. The day was too good to waste indoors, so I decided to go for a walk.
