#73 Chanyeol-One Year Later

The rain pounds down incessantly outside, and I go to the window, watching the slithers of droplets run down.

Out in the streets, it's bare; everyone's rushing for shelter. The winds slips in through the small slit of the window, and I make a reckless decision.

I push the door open and run out in the rain, ignoring the looks thrown my way.

I hitch up my skirts and take off, pelting through the cobbled streets of the village. The sun shines slightly, and for a moment, the rain seems to pause. The droplets seem to hang like thin rainbow threads in the air, twinkling in the sunshine.

It feels like a dream.

I can almost see us wherever I look-holding hands at the café, browsing for reads in the bookshop, or just strolling casually.

The dreams of our past.

I stagger on and on, the memories like a double edged sword-bringing me pain and joy.

"Bee?"

I look up and gawk at the equally sodden man in front of me.

It has been just one year, but it feels like forever.

We are just standing face to face, just like that day.

It feels like I’ve dreamed for a long time.
For a while, I’ve wandered and wandered.
Four seasons ago, we made a pomise.

"Let's make a list of what we'll do when we marry!" He clapped his hands excitedly, and I got out a notebook.

"Ya, will we even marry?"

"Are you going to reject me when I ask?"

I shook my head, and doodled a picture of us, hand in hand.

"Oh! Oh! We'll fly to the galaxy for a honeymoon! Write that down!"

His energy was overwhelming, and I laughed.

"Don't you think that's a bit too big of a hope?"

"It's a dream, isn't it? Dreams are supposed to be big. And I'll get the world for you. Whatever you want, I'll get it. It's a promise."

I freeze, and all the promises of forever just come back, like how they do when I sit in bed. Alone.

I want to cry. Desperately. I want to bawl. Loudly. I want to run. Away from you. My heart hurts so much when I see your face, but it still wants you.

But I stand still. I gulp, and force the tears that would slip out anytime. I know Chanyeol doesn't like to see me upset.

"How have you been Ye-Chanyeol?"
