Luna
I walked with Major to this ice cream parlor in town. I was still iffy with him because I didn't want to get my hopes up, only to have them dashed again.
We walked into the place and ordered ice cream, then found a seat at a table. As we sat there quietly eating our ice cream, I just enjoyed my ice cream.
"So, about that date?" Major asked as I stopped mid-bite. I look at him, not sure what to think.
"I thought we could have dinner, maybe see a movie," he said casually.
"Major," I started to say.
"Hear me out, Luna," Major said.
I looked at him.
"I think the reason it didn't work before was that it happened so fast, and it scared me," Major reasoned.
I furrowed my brows.
"I mean you wanted so much so quickly that I didn't know how to handle it," he said, making me angry. "But I think this time can be better, don't you?"
I frowned at him, and that's when I decided, that was it.
"What do you think?" He looked at me.
"What do I think?" I asked him.
"Well, yeah," Major replied.
"I think this," I said as I took my ice cream and smashed it into his face. He looked at me and said, "Ma and Dad were right; ice cream makes everything better." With that, I stood up and walked away.
He got up and went after me. He caught me out of the ice cream parlor. "Luna! What the hell?"
"You blamed me. It didn't work before!" I yelled back.
"Only because you moved fast," he yelled back.
"Really because I was perfectly fine without you when you pursued me or did you forget that? You are such a tool, Major!" I snapped.
"Oh, yeah?" Major backed.
"Yeah!" I shouted.
"Because this tool wants to kiss you," he yelled as he reached over, placing his hands on my face, crashing his lips into mine, getting ice cream all over me. I smacked him twice before I finally gave in and kissed him back.
There was something about that kiss different from before. Before, there was an attraction, but this was more meaningful.
After a few minutes, we pulled away and looked at each other with ice cream all over our face. Yeah, we looked pretty ridiculous.
"You're right. I am a tool. I say the wrong things because it's hard when you're in love with someone and don't know what to say," he confessed, which took me by surprise.
"You're in love with me?" I asked him.
"Yeah," he shrugged.
I stood there, stunned. That's why the kiss felt different. Before, it was okay, but now, it meant something.
"Luna, you drive me crazy, but I realized when I didn't have you, I had this unbelievable ache in my chest. Then when you saw me in the bookstore and thought I had moved on, seeing your expression broke my heart," he declared to me. "I just want my wife back."
I didn't know what to say. Just hearing Major say his wife, felt overwhelming.
"Major, I want that too, but I also don't want to get hurt again. One minute you want me, then the next you don't. I can't be with someone indecisive. It's not fair," I said with furrowed brows.
"Then let me prove it," he said, placing a hand on the side of my face. "Give me one chance to prove it; then, if you feel it's not working, then I will sign the divorce papers."
I looked at him. Did I want to give up on us, or did I want us to fight for us? As I looked at him, I saw something I hadn't seen before, hope. Then I did the one thing I had been fighting.
"Okay. You got one chance to prove it," I said to him. A smile crept upon his face as he pulled me into a kiss.
I gave him a chance. Hopefully, he doesn't blow it.
Major
Just hearing her say that gave me hope. Hope for love, us, and the future. I know I've been a tool and made terrible decisions where it concerns Luna, but I also know that at some point, I fell in love with her.
They say when you fall in love; you feel it deeply. That person can make you mad the quickest; they can frustrate you, but they also make you feel good when you're excited about something. They're the ones that you can't wait to tell you about your good news. They're the one that supports you when you get bad news.
I watched Michael help Lyric, Maverick deal with Larkin, Lakin be there for Mia, and Piper finds love with Lex. Now it was my turn. I wanted all that and more. I wanted to share everything with one person, and that was Luna.
I walked her back to the house she was staying in and went back to my house to get cleaned up.
I walked in, met by Maverick, who started laughing. "I guess it went well?"
"I would say so," I grinned.
Michael saw me. "You know you eat ice cream, not wear it."
"If wearing ice cream means Luna gives me another chance, then so be it," I said happily.
"At least you finally got your shit together," Michael smirked, earning an eye roll from me.
I walked past them and went up to my room. I grabbed a towel and made my way to the bathroom. After locking the door, I stripped down and climbed in, washing up. I couldn't believe she finally agreed to give me another chance. I couldn't screw this up again. If I did, I'm pretty sure that would be it.
After washing up, I dried off and put on some fresh clothes. I walked into my room and checked my phone; I had a missed message from Luna.
I had fun. Thanks for the ice cream!
That made me smile. I shot Luna a text back.
I'm glad. Hopefully, the next time, we can have ice cream at home.
I sent the message hoping it wasn't too forward. I checked my phone, waiting for it to ding, but it didn't. Shit. Luna probably thinks I'm expecting more from her at this moment. I sent another text.
I meant, hang out at each other's house, and have ice cream, nothing sexual.
I hit send then realized that she probably thinks I'm not interested now. Damn it. I started sending text after text until I realized she probably thinks I'm becoming overbearing.
Ten text messages later, and I realized I was a king-size tool. I fell back on the bed and laid there like a lump, letting out a deep sigh. I'm pretty sure I just blew it with Luna, FML.
