Major
When I think I'm making headway with Luna, something comes along and screws it up. This time was that crazy librarian Maxie. Ugh, I went over to her place once, but I never made her think that I was remotely interested. That was a mistake I wanted to erase from my memory.
What happens? She shows up just as Luna and I were about to kiss. Luna gets the wrong idea, bolts, and I get left having to deal with crazy pants.
I sat on my couch as Maverick walked in. "Rough day?"
"Rough life," I sighed. He chuckled.
"I don't know what I'm doing wrong, Mav. I get books to help me. I take her for ice cream. She finally agrees to a date, and here comes that nut job," I said emphatically.
"The crazy librarian who has the hots for you?" He asked with a look.
"That is the one," I said.
"Major, you're the only guy I know who can attract crazy ass women faster than anything," he said as there was a knock at the door. He got up and answered the door. "Then again, I think you attract crazies."
I looked at him with confusion as I got up and walked over to him. Only to see Nixon standing there with Nolan, fantastic.
"Is this a bad time because if it is, too bad?" Nixon said as Nolan smirked.
We looked at each other as Maverick laughed. "Good luck, brother."
They walked in, and he closed the door. We followed them into the living room.
"Since the little brother here can't seem to fix things," Nixon pointed at Nolan, who shrugged, "and a big brother is a tool that leaves me to fix things. Word of advice, don't be a tool."
"That's your advice?" I looked at him strangely.
"It's sound advice." Nixon shrugged.
"I'm trying, and nothing is working," I said incredulously.
"You do realize these kids, including Luna bell, has fifty percent of their dad's genes and fifty percent of their ma's, which makes them the biggest insecure tools to walk the face of the earth," Nixon said emphatically.
"Then what do you suggest?" I asked him.
"Don't be like Nash," Nolan said.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Nash is a tool. He's screwed things up with Maggie so many freaking times, we have a pool going," Nolan explained.
"That's disturbing you all bet on your brother screwing up," Maverick said to them.
"We're the Gray Brothers. It's what we do," Nolan said.
"I will never understand this family," Maverick said to them.
"Dude, we're crazy. What's understanding?" Nixon said to him.
"That isn't helping my situation," I groaned.
"Well, don't be a tool," Nixon said to me.
"Then how about you tell Luna that because I'm pretty sure she's not talking to me," I sighed.
"Have you not learned anything from this family? You don't talk; you kidnap," he advised.
"Say what?" I asked, looking at them like they're insane.
"Damn, you're dumb. You tie Luna up and make her listen. We did it to her mom," Nolan said.
This family was nuts, but then again, what did I have to lose?
"Nolan, call the demon spawn," Nixon ordered his brother.
"Good thing they're in town," Nolan said as he made a call.
I looked at Maverick, who gave me a look. I had a feeling; things were about to get crazy.
Luna
After polishing off my donuts, I fell into a sugar-induced coma. I love donuts.
What I didn't know was that someone paid a visit. By someone, I meant four crazy uncles.
They walked in, and Lex was about to say something when they told him to be quiet. Larkin came out of the kitchen and the same thing. Lyric, who didn't need to ask, met them, smart girl.
They made their way to my room, and the minute I opened my eyes, a hand met me over my mouth.
That brings me to my current situation of being bound and gagged, sitting in the back seat between Nathan and Noah, while Nixon and Nolan sat in the front seat.
"You know Nash will kill us when he finds out what we did," Nathan said to Nixon.
"Nash already knows. He was the one that suggested it," Nixon replied.
"Wait until Maggie finds out," Noah said.
"Good luck, Nash," Nolan chuckled.
While the four of them talked, I sat there, bound and gagged. What the hell?
We pulled up, and they got out of the car. Noah yanked me out of the backseat, causing me to hit the ground with a thud.
"Aww, did someone go boom?" Nathan smirked, so much for my loving family.
Nolan picked me up and stood me upright as Major walked over to me. I stood there, looking at him.
"That was their idea, not mine." He pointed at my uncles who rolled their eyes at him.
"What did I say? Don't be a tool. Now tell her, twit!" Nixon yelled.
"Luna, I'm not seeing anyone. That girl is a crazy librarian obsessed with me. I attract crazy people, but you're the one I want. I've been trying to get you back and failing miserably. According to them, I'm a tool," he explained as he pointed at my uncles who all nodded.
I look at him as I sighed.
He removed my gag, and I said, "I'm just afraid of getting hurt again. Major, I don't want to open my heart only to have it crushed repeatedly. I know people don't understand, but for me, it's important."
"Luna, I don't want to hurt you anymore. I want to love you. I realized when we aren't together, I miss you. I miss the way you laugh at silly things and your craziness in a good way. The way you look at me and no one else. I miss you. Honestly, I don't regret marrying you," he said sincerely.
"Yeah, which reminds me I still have a bone to pick with you," Nixon said to us.
"Funny you should mention that," Nolan said as we all looked at him. "Nash did some checking because of Luna wanting a divorce, and it turns out the guy that married them was a big fat fraud."
"What's that mean?" I asked him.
"You're not married," he shrugged.
That took us by surprise. It makes sense considering the guy was offering weddings out of his car. Yeah, we saw a sign on our way to get coffee and paid the guy fifty bucks. Okay, we're dumb.
Major looked at me. "How about we do this the right way? Take it to slow. Then when the time is right, we'll take the next step."
"I think I would like that," I smiled, genuinely as he took a step closer and placed his hands on my face while giving me a tender kiss.
"Finally, now excuse me. I have two twits of sons to go see," Nixon exclaimed.
"Such a loving father," Nathan scoffed.
"Yep," said Noah.
"Well, if I don't see them, then I get no playtime with my hot wife. No way am I giving up playtime for them," he huffed as the four of them got back into Nixon's car and left.
Major untied me, and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he kissed me again. I was in love with Major. I was just scared of getting my heart broken again.
Sometimes it takes the Gray way to figure out what your heart truly desires even if it includes bounding and gagging someone. Whatever happens now, it was Major and me dealing with it together.
