Luna
I was hanging out with Major, and he went to get food leaving Mia and me alone at his house. Maverick, Michael, Larkin, Lakin, and Lyric had classes so they would be back in a few hours. Lex and Piper were busy.
I didn't mind. Mia and I hung out playing a game. Plus, Lakin and Michael felt better when someone was with her, to make sure she needed nothing.
As we sat at the table playing, there was a knock at the door. That's weird; we weren't expecting anyone.
"I'll get it, think about your next move," I told her.
"Okay," she said, looking at the board game.
I got up from my chair and walked over to the door.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Delivery," a low voice answered.
I looked through the peephole to see a delivery person standing there. The person had their head down and flowers in their hands.
"We ordered nothing," I said through the door.
"It's from Lakin Gray," the person replied.
I know my sister, and she would never do a delivery. Unfortunately, Mia didn't understand because of the injury she sustained. She got up and ran over to the door.
"Mia! Wait!" I yelled, but it was too late. She opened the door, only to have a gun pointed at us.
They lifted their heads, and it was that crazy librarian, Maxie.
"Your family wants to take me and drop me in a secluded place, now they can deal with one less Gray," she snapped. This bitch was crazy.
I heard my phone go off. "Touch that phone, and I will make your death slow and painful. Now move," she ordered us as she pointed the gun at us. We turned and walked; then she made us sit on the couch. I needed to figure a way out of this without getting us killed.
Major
I called Luna because I had a question about her order and she didn't answer. Yeah, I'm not about to screw this up. I tried again, and finally, she answered the phone, "Major?"
"Luna, I'm getting your sandwich, and you don't like pickles, right?"
"No, I don't like mustard, you tool," she answered. Then she hung up. I looked at my phone. Mustard? Luna likes mustard.
I called back, and she answered, "You like mustard. What the hell, Luna?"
"Uncle Nixon, I can't talk right now. I know I'm your favorite, but I'm kind of busy," she answered, then hung up. That right there told me something was wrong. Nixon's favorite was Larkin, while Nolan is Luna's.
I walked away without worrying about the food. I needed to get home.
As I made my way home, I ran into Mav and Lark.
"Why in such a rush?" Mav asked me.
"Because apparently, Luna is Nixon's favorite," I told him. They both looked at me as Larkin said, "Oh, hell, no."
She stormed off as Maverick said, "Nice going."
"Dude, that was a code, I'm in trouble," I told him as he looked at me with furrowed brows.
We turned and ran after Larkin, finally explaining things to her.
"Then we have a serious problem," she told us.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Together, we're unstoppable. Separate us, and we're weak, especially Luna," she told us.
