We all headed to the beach house in Myrtle Beach for spring break. It is by far my favorite place to visit when we went somewhere.
We arrived and got settled. I was finishing up when I felt two arms snake around me from behind. Major nuzzled my neck as I giggled, "Can I help you?"
"Nope, I'm just enjoying my girl. Now shh, let me have my moment," he said as I giggled.
We stood there as Major snuggled me. It's weird, ever since he moved in, he was very affectionate with me. I didn't mind, though. I loved it when he was.
"Are you two just going to stand around, or are we going to eat?" I heard Larkin asked.
We turned to her as she stood there with crossed arms.
"Lark, it's just food," Major said.
She gave him a look. Oh shit, rule number one, never tell Larkin it's only food.
"I'm sure I didn't hear you just say that," she said with a warning tone.
Major opened his mouth, and I slapped my hand over it, "Nope. It was just a figment of your imagination," I replied.
"Uh-huh," she said as she gave us a knowing look, then turned and walked away.
I turned to look at Major as I still had my palm over his mouth. He gave me a look, and I removed my hand.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"Major, I'm saving you from an early death. Making any comment about food to Larkin is saying, come get me, grim reaper," I said, holding my arms out.
"A little overdramatic, aren't we?" He asked.
"Hold that thought," I said with a raised finger. I turned and yelled, "Is death not important when you comment with Larkin and food?"
"Are you crazy?" Lakin yelled.
"Are you sure Ma and Dad didn't drop you on your head as a baby?" Lyric asked.
"What flowers did you want at your funeral?" Lex asked.
I turned to Major. He looked at me. "Point made." I shook my head, rolling my eyes.
We made our way downstairs and left with the others to get food. I was hungry. Larkin was hangry, which is never the right combination with her.
We ate, then hit the beach. That was the thing about Myrtle Beach; it was relaxing. Ma and Dad would bring us here a lot growing up. We always had fun.
Between my siblings, the Harpers, and my cousins, along with their girlfriends, there was never a time it bore us. We all had fun, chasing each other, and playing volleyball. It was times like these that I treasured.
At some point, we get older and have families. Now was the time to enjoy ourselves. I just had a feeling this would be a trip I would remember more so than the others.
One day, I awoke from a peaceful slumber. Let me backtrack. I got tackled by my fellow crazy quints, ugh. What's the point of a vacation if they don't let you sleep in a while you're here?
They decided we needed to have a sibling day today. Why? Isn't it bad enough? I had to share utero with them? Nope, it's not.
Once I got dressed, they dragged me out of the house. We went shopping and then got food. Well, that was after Larkin threatened to beat the hell out of us if we didn't stop and eat.
All I wanted to do was go back and take a nap. It had been a long and crazy day.
They brought me back to the beach house then disappeared, leaving Kain alone with me. I am so going to hurt them.
