Lakin
Now that we established my sister is a twit, and we were all tools, we could finally enjoy the holidays. I hated being upset with Luna. I hated being bothered by any of my siblings.
Uncle Marco and Uncle Jasper stayed with us. They were always a trip. Luna and I ended up sharing a room like we would do when we were kids. It was our thing.
"I feel like an idiot," Luna said, trying to get comfortable.
"Well, we all got to feel like something, right?" I smirked, and she hit me with a pillow.
"This sucks," she groaned.
"Oh, suck it up, buttercup. Next time, don't freaking let go when Lyric tells you to do that. What the hell were you thinking?" I asked her.
"Not a lot," Luna said as she lay there.
"So, you and Major are back together," I asked her.
"Yeah, we took it slow and see what happens," she said with a slight smile.
The door opened, and Lyric, Larkin, and Lex walked into the room. I walked over to them, and we all looked at Luna with shit-eating grins. She had an uh oh face.
Major
I knocked on the door, and Nash opened it up. He pointed to upstairs, and I nodded. I made my way upstairs to Luna's room and walked into it. Before she said anything, I picked her up. Larkin tossed her coat onto her. I carried her out of the room.
"Major, what are you doing?" Luna asked me.
"Just because you have a broken leg and arm doesn't mean you can't enjoy Christmas," I said as I carried Luna, and she smiled at me.
We all left the house, and outside waiting for us, we're two sleighs and horses. I walked over and lifted her to Maverick, who took her, setting her down on a seat. She put on her coat, and he placed a blanket over her.
I helped Larkin up, while Lex helped Piper up, then I climbed in after Lex. Lyric, Michael, Lakin, and Mia were in the other sleigh.
Once we were all inside and situated, the drivers moved. I wrapped my arm around Luna while she put the blanket over me.
Sometimes we need a reminder of why this time is particular.
We went for a sleigh ride; then it started to snow lightly. Luna looked up as I looked at her. The thing I loved the most about her is that she had this fascination with simple words. She didn't see it, but I did.
She had changed a lot from when I first met her. She wasn't that same girl I met. She had grown and mature. She stops dressing in skimpy clothes to get attention; she dealt with being on her own. She learned how to be her person. I admired her for that.
She looked at me. "What?"
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," she said as a smile appeared.
"No, I mean, I'm in love with you," I said as she looked at me in awe. "One day, I will make you my wife for real."
She reached up and placed her hand on my cheek as she leaned in, kissing me. I didn't hesitate to kiss her back. Luna might have her moments, but deep down, she was the right person. She just needed reminding of it.
We finished the sleigh ride and went back to their house. I got out first so Maverick, and Lex could hand her to me. I carried her inside.
After spending time with her, I went home. I couldn't wait to see her again.
