Arielle's PoV

We arrived back at Noah's, him slamming the door as we entered.
"You're back!" Kelly greeted us with a warm smile as Noah pushed past her, walking into the kitchen with the bag.
"What's up with him?" She asked to which I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't going to tell her. I'll leave that up to him.
She let out a soft sigh, following her son into the kitchen.

I stood in the hallway like a lemon, looking at the family photo frames they had on the wall. They seemed like a happy family. That's when I noticed a man standing beside Kelly and holding on to Noah's hand in one of the pictures. That must be Noah's Dad. What happened to him?

"You ok?" A voice asked behind me. I jumped slightly, turning to look at my dad.
"Yeah." I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding.
"Good." He pursed his lips.
"They're dishing out the ice cream. Do you want some?" Dad asked.
"Of course." I grinned. When have I ever turned down ice cream?

————
There was such a dreadful silence at the table. I don't know if my dad and Kelly had noticed but they didn't seem to care as they sent each other smiles across the table.

I played about with my ice cream in the bowl, thinking. This is what it would be like when we all move in together. Noah and I would have some sort of argument, our parents wouldn't know and we'd just have to try everything to make it seem as though we're fine. I really despised the boy. He wasn't my cup of tea. He's got the looks, just not the personality. You know, the main feature of someone.

"Are you going to eat that?" A voice snapped me out of my trance. I looked up to see that Noah had finished his bowl, his eyes eyeing up mine.
"Sure She is." My Dad nudged my shoulder, his eyebrows raising as he looked at my ice cream.
"Actually, I'm not hungry." I shook my head, releasing my spoon and pushing the bowl further away from me.
"Can I eat it?" Noah asked. I wanted to say no. I really did but my head had other answers as it nodded.
"Thanks." He snatched the bowl, scoffing up my chocolate ice cream. He's such an animal.

All I wanted to do right now was go home and ring Jude. He's been on my mind all night. I can't stand being here with Noah.

"Thanks mum." Noah stacked my bowl in his own.
"Yes, Thanks Kel." My Dad thanked her before looking at me.
"Thank you for dinner Kelly, it was lovely." I smiled politely, knowing that it would make my dad happy.
"No problem, my loves." She grinned, gathering the washing up with my dads help.

Noah got up from the table, stomping off somewhere whilst I sat down, checking my phone for any messages. Nothing.

"So Arielle..." My Dad turned to me. Oh god, what is he going to say?
"Mhm." I mumbled.
"What do you think about staying here the night?" There was a wide grin on his face and a hopeful glint in his eyes. He wanted me to say yes.
"I have stuff to do at home though." I pouted. I hated staying anywhere that's not my own room. I felt so uncomfortable... so out of place.
"Like what?" Dad asked.
"Clean up my room and sort things out." I couldn't think of any good enough excuses.
"Can't you do that tomorrow?" He frowned.
"No." I shook my head.
"I can always ask Noah to run her back home if you want to stay here." Kelly suggested.
"Can't you just drop me back?" I looked towards Dad.
"I've had a few drinks." He shook his head.
"You can do that though." He looked to Kelly.
"I'll go ask Noah." She rushed off out of the kitchen, leaving me there to glare at my dad.
"What?" He asked.
"You know I don't like spending time with him." I groaned.
"You never know, one day you guys may find something in common." He shrugged.
"He's already pissed off with me. I don't feel safe getting in a car with him again." I was almost pleading my dad
"You'll Be Fine, Ari. It's either that or you stay here the night." Dad cocked an eyebrow to which I frantically shook my head.
"Fine!" I huffed.
"I'll go back with Noah." I placed my head in my hands, letting out a mental scream.

Soon enough, Kelly walked back in.
"He said to give him 10 minutes, the bedroom door was locked so I couldn't pester him." She chuckled before heading back over to my dad. Great.

———
10 minutes turned into something more along the lines of 20 before Noah showed his face again.

He came into the living room, his hair a slight mess with flustered cheeks and a change of clothes. They looked more comfy than the last ones.

"Oh Noah, finally." Kelly laughed at her son.
"S-Sorry, I was busy." He breathed out. Busy doing what? Hmmm...
"You ready?" He turned to look at me, twirling his keys around on his finger.
I nodded my head, standing up from the sofa and wandering over to my dad and Kelly.
"Thanks for dinner." I smiled, leaning down and pulling Kelly in for a hug.
"It's a pleasure, my dear." She pecked my cheek.
I then moved towards my dad, hugging him.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked, pulling back.
"I'll text you if anything changes." He nodded his head before giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"I love you, sweet." He spoke.
"I love you too, Dad." I smiled, standing up straight and making sure I had everything.
"Right, Bye!" I waved at the two of them.
"Goodbye! Drive safely, Noah!" Kelly shouted after her son.
"Will do. Bye!" And with that, we were out of the house, walking towards Noah's car again.

It was silence until we began driving, Noah giving me a small glance.
"You want to go somewhere?" He asked.
"Yeah, home." I crossed my arms over my chest, slouching down into the chair.
"No, I mean-" he started, changing into a higher gear.
"Go somewhere." He pursed his lips.
"Where is Somewhere? I'm really tired." I groaned.
"It's just a place I used to go when I was little. We won't be long." He explained.
"Fine." If it was somewhere that he used to go to when he was younger, there was no way in hell that it could be far from here.
