Arielle's PoV
"Honestly, I'm so excited for the both of you!" Jason cooed at our parents engagement news, even though I had already previously told him. He gave me a quick glance, knowing full well I wasn't so happy for them.
"Thank you, love." Kelly smiled at him, taking our empty plates away from us, besides Noah's. He still hadn't shown for dinner.
Dad had invited Jason to stay for dinner as he claims to have missed him. I swear he likes Jason more than his own daughter..."Do you reckon we should go and check on him?" My dad changed the subject, looking at Noah's plate that was piled with pasta.
"He said he'd be down soon." Kelly shook her head.
"Shall I just take it up to him? He's obviously either not feeling too great or has fallen asleep." I reached over the table to grab his plate.
"What a good idea." George sent me a smile. It was weird, like kind of wicked. He's been acting strange towards me for a few hours now, what has gotten into him?I ignored his comment and excused myself from the table, telling Jason that I'd be back soon before walking up the stairs.
Once I reached Noah's door, I gave three soft knocks.
"Leave me alone." He mumbled. What's wrong?
"Noah, it's me." I whispered.
Within seconds the door flew open and I almost dropped his plate of food at the sight in front of me. What the hell?I was kind of used to Noah's cuts and bruises on his face but not this new one. His nose was pretty busted, dried blood covered his lips, chin, neck and top. I gulped, stepping inside and placing his plate of food on his chest of drawers before rushing back over to him again.
"Wh-what happened?" I was panicking. Had Jude been over without me knowing? Had Noah gone back to pick another fight?
"Where is he?" His jaw clenched, ignoring my question.
"What? Who? Jason? He's downstairs." I rushed out.
"Not him." Noah shook his head.
"Who?" I was so confused.
"Your brother." He spat. Wait what? Why does he care where he is?
Oh my god... did George do this?
But before I could ask anymore questions, a loud 'what!' was heard from downstairs, Noah's eyes were wide and he rushed out of the room. What in the actual fuck is going on?
"Noah!" I called after him, following his fast footsteps down the stairs."You're lying." My dads voice sounded angry as we approached the kitchen, a smashed plate laid on the floor. This has all happened in the space of two minutes. What in the world...
"Is it true?" Kelly's voice cracked from across the room, her eyes glossy, not even acknowledging the smashed china. She was eyeing up her bloodied son.
"Is what true?" I was desperate to know what was happening.
"You and Noah." George stood from his seat, placing his hands on the table.I gulped, taking a step closer to Noah. My head is spinning and my whole world seems to have come crashing down at my feet. I felt numb. How? How did he know?
"I-I don't know what you're talking about." I shook my head, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. Surely he couldn't mean what I think he means.
I looked to Jason, his eyes were bulging out of his head. I know that look. Everyone knows and George has just told them. I'm starting to piece things together now. It was George. George had punched Noah. Where the hell was I when all of this was happening?"Arielle." My dads voice was low and his eyes were narrowed at me. I looked at his hands that were balled up, resting on top of the table.
"Jason, I think you should go." I spoke, not breaking eye contact with my father. He was going to lose his shit any second now.
"I-" Jason began but before he could say anything else, I cut him off.
"Go, please." I tore my gaze from my dad and to Jason who looked worried.
My best friend quickly stood from the table, walking over to Noah and I, stopping in front of us. He gave us both a sympathetic look before leaving the house without a second word.It was silent, awfully silent and I knew that whatever the next word was to come out of someone's mouth wouldn't be good.
"Go on Noah, tell them." George broke the silence, his eyes fixed on Noah.
"George, stop." Noah threatened.
"Are you fucking kidding me!" My dad roared, standing up from the table and looking at the both of us. I was scared. Terrified in fact. I had never seen my dad like this. I have no clue what he's actually capable of.
"You know what-" Noah began, taking a step closer to me, looking between our parents.
"Yes, it's true." He didn't even hesitate to wrap an arm around my waist, pulling me into him. This is really happening. I never planned for it to happen this way... in fact, I never really planned it out in the first place.
"I am in love with your daughter, Michael." He looked to my dad whose teeth were clenched and eyes wide. Noah, please just shut up.
"No." My dad growled.
"And I am not asking for your permission to be with her. She is not your possession and one day, I'm going to marry this girl." My heart skipped a small beat at his words, my eyes brimming with tears.
"Everyone is different, everyone has different ideas on what is important in life and Arielle is whats important to me, you won't change that." Noah's hand rubbed up and down my back soothingly to try and control the hysterical tears. Why do I always cry about everything? Why can't I ever stand up for myself properly.
"If your type of different is incest then you have a whole different look on life than any other normal human being." George fired at him.
"This is not incest." Noah's voice was deep, I knew he was trying to hold back his anger.
"You're fucking your sister!" George yelled.
"We are related by marriage, not blood." I stepped in before Noah completely went loose at George.
"Do you not see how wrong that is?" It was now my dads turn to speak.
"We're getting married within the next year. Were you ever planning on telling us?" He raised his voice and I jumped, leaning into Noah some more. With him I felt safe. Safer than I've ever felt with anyone. If only our parents could see that.
