Arielle's PoV
Where to start?
I looked at the first box which had 'RECORDS AND PLAYER' written on it in black marker. Maybe I should start there, get a little music playing. Only problem is, I have no furniture to set it on. Fantastic.
Maybe I should start putting my chest of drawers together which was already here from yesterday. I didn't have a wardrobe in this room which sucks so I had my dads old set of drawers. They were just plain white with gold knobs. It'll do."Can you at least help me put these together?" I asked Jason as I moved some boxes out of the way to create some more floor space.
"Fine." He groaned, sliding off of my bed and crawling over to me.
"Thank you." I laughed at him. He can be so lazy at times, but I guess he could say the same for me.After 45 minutes of arguing, deciding what goes where, we had finally put the drawers together. I guess you could say that jay and I weren't experts when it came to DIY, especially when there aren't any instructions involved.
"Finally." I breathed out, placing my hands on my hips.
"Now we just have to move it to wherever you want it." Jason spoke.
"Which is where?" I asked.
"I don't know, it's your room." He chuckled.
I scanned my eyes around the room.
The layout went something like this;
My room was a large sized box room which as you walk in, you have a wall exactly to the right of you and then to the left of you, you had space. Something could go there. My bed was directly under the window and I wanted to put my bedside cabinets next to it. In the corner of the room, I wanted to put my corner desk for my makeup. I'm pretty sure I know where I want things, I just don't know where to put this chest of drawers.
"How about here?" Jason walked over to the the space up against the wall.
"Yeah." I shrugged my shoulders. We could always move it later if I didn't like it.Once we had struggled to move it a lot, seeing as neither of us have much muscle, Jason let out a sigh.
"I'm laying down for about 10 years now." He shook his arms, falling back down on to my bed.
I laughed, walking over to my record player box.
I don't think you actually understand how much I appreciate my record player. It's the best thing I have ever bought, hands down.I carefully pulled out the baby pink player and set it upon my chest of drawers. It sat there perfectly and I grinned.
"How'd you like it?" I turned to Jason.
"It looks a little boring." He answered.
"Well I'm going to put more things on it." I rolled my eyes, pushing it towards the back corner of the drawers. I was thinking about setting some of my favourite perfumes up on here too.Just as I was about to put on a record, my dad shouted up.
"Arielle!" He called. I let out a sigh, walking towards the door and opening it up.
"Yeah!" I yelled back.
"Your bedside tables are down here. Noah put them together for you." Just as my dad said that, Noah walked up the stairs, carrying a box into his room. He gave me a small look, one that I couldn't quite read.
"Ok! I'll be down in a sec." I then turned around to Jason.
"Put on a good vinyl. I'll be back." I said before running out of the room and down the stairs. As I reached the bottom, I had noticed that they had already started on decorating the hallway. They must be doing one room at a time.
"It looks nice down here." I smiled, watching as Kelly hung up a mirror.
"Thanks, honey." She repositioned the mirror so that it was straight and I darted my eyes down to my bedside tables that were in the middle of the floor.
"Your weird little lamp things are in that box too." My Dad pointed to box.
I don't know why my dad found my lamps weird. I thought they were a very cool investment. They were baby pink, much like the rest of my theme in my bedroom, with a triangle shape. It's hard to explain but I also had a matching light shade.I took the bedside cabinets up, one at a time before grabbing my lamps.
As I walked up the stairs, I caught Noah walking out of his room.He saw me and gave a small smile.
"How's it going?" He asked.
"Good. You?" I questioned. Well this isn't awkward.
"Stressful." He laughed a little. This is pretty much how all our conversations have gone since that kiss. It's ridiculous.
"Same." I pursed my lips.
We stood there for a few seconds in silence and I snapped my attention back to the lamps in my hands.
"Well, I'll get back to-" I started but he cut me off.
"Me too." And with that, he ran back down the stairs. Ok then...As I entered my bedroom, I heard the sound of Michael Bolton fill my ears. Jason liked his songs so I guess that's why he put him on.
"Yo!" I smiled at my best friend, putting the lamps on top of the bedside cabinets.
"Ugh, those strange things." He snickered.
"I like them." I defended my lamps. What have they ever done to anyone? Poor things.I then turned around to look at the boxes again.
This is going to be a long day... maybe I'll go through my clothes next? I mean, they probably take up the majority of the boxes. Yes. Let's do that.
