Veronica came in and gave me a hug, "That's from Soda. He says thank you."
I smiled and got back to my tables. We had five more hours until we were off.
It seemed to pass slowly, but we were finally off. Veronica and I were walking home because Heather had another late shift.
We decided to stay at my place tonight because it was closer.
When we got inside we started making dinner. My folks were always out through the night but stumbled in to sleep after I left for work, so it was just us for dinner.
Veronica filled me in on what had happened when she dropped off lunch for the boys, apparently Dallas was as bad as we heard but had taken a break for some reason. Sadly, he seemed to be going back to his old ways.
We sat in the living room playing cards and laughing until it was dark.
It started storming once the sun was down.
We heard a knock on the door but when I answered it all I saw was a bouquet on the porch.
I looked around and saw the retreating soaking wet back of a man I'd be willing to bet was Soda.
"Thank you!" I yelled.
I picked up the flowers and saw a little note tied under the ribbon.
I read it as I walked to grab a vase.
Bailey,
Meet me at the park Thursday afternoon.
Soda
I smiled and put the note on the counter as I filled the vase with water.
Veronica popped in the kitchen, "Who was it?"
I motioned towards the flowers, "Sodapop."
She laughed and rolled her eyes, "What? Because being dreamy isn't enough?"
