Like every other Friday night, DQ was busy and crowded. We ate quickly so we could get out of there. Soda practically pulled me outside. From there, we walked to the park. Hand in hand as we made our way to a fountain.
"Tell me about yourself," I said once we sat down.
"Not much to tell," He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes, "Think of something."
He thought for a moment, "I've got two brothers, Darry and Pony, work at the DX, and have a thing for blondes." He winked with the last part. "What about you?"
I shrugged, "I've got a sister, she's in college, I work at the diner, and I spend most my time with Veronica and Heather."
"Tell me about your brothers," I said with a smile.
He grinned, "Darry takes care of us. He's very strong and athletic. Ponyboy, well, he's really book smart and the dreamer of the group. They don't always get along but they mean well."
I smiled. He wrapped his arm around me, "What are your friends like?"
I put my head on his shoulder, "Veronica is definitely a leader. She takes control whenever the situation needs it. Heather is a great friend. She puts everyone else first. Especially Anne."
He was tapping his foot on the ground to a beat, "Who's Anne?"
I smiled at the mention of the sweet girl that's become like a niece to me, "Heather's sister. Well, it's more like daughter if I'm honest. She's raised her since she was two days old."
"How old is she now?"
I counted in my head, "About a year."
"She a cutie?" He asked with an adorable grin.
I couldn't help but laugh, "The cutest. She's pretty much my neice."
He smiled, "I'm sure you're great with her."
"Thank you," I slipped a glance to his lips before I had time to stop myself. Soda must have noticed because before I knew it, he was leaning in. I closed my eyes and then the distance.
