"What have I done? Luke hates me now. I was just I-I just wanted him to be safe. Is it a bad thing?"
A tear dropped from Ashton's eyes.
"Luke hates me. Luke hates me. Luke hates me. Luke hates me." He hugged his legs.
"Luke doesn't hate you." Ashton heard a voice. He wiped his tears and tried to smiled. Of course he failed. He didn't say anything. Lauren walked over to Ashton.
"I don't know what you said or did but I'm sure he doesn't hate you Ashton." Ashton looked down. He didn't want Lauren to see him cry.
"I screwed up. He-he hates me." Lauren hugged her brother.
"Luke h-hates m-" Lauren pushed her brother's face to her shoulder.
"Shh he doesn't hate you. You'll see." Lauren could feel her t-shirt getting wet because of her older brother's tears. Ashton wrapped his arms around his sister.
Luke dropped his phone to his lap. What he just did? He was still mad at Ashton. But Ashton was just trying to protect him. He shut the phone to his best friend's face. But Luke didn't regret what he did. Ashton was wrong. Calum wasn't a bad guy. He was just getting judged by his look.
Luke sat on the couch and and thought about what he did. Until he heard the door opening.
"Luke I'm home." Andrew shouted. Luke didn't want to talk to his dad. He didn't want to talk to anyone. He was too upset. He saw his dad.
"Hey. Are you hungry?" God yes. Luke was always hungry. Doesn't matter what happens Luke was always open for a good meal.
"Since it's late I think I'm gonna order some pizza." Luke's eyes widened.
"Yes dad please." Andrew smiled. He loved how he's son could be always hungry.
Luke was eating his pizza with his dad.
"So how's school?" Luke wasn't gonna be truthful to his dad.
"Good." Luke's dad shook his head.
"That's great." If he only knew Luke thought.
Luke shut the door behind him and started to run. He didn't like being late to class. He hate all the stares. Seriously why does everyone have to look at him like he just murdered someone? Luke didn't get how Calum do that all the time. It's just so embarrassing.
As Luke was running to his locker he tripped over some thing and fell on his face. Thank god his hands hit the floor before his face. Suddenly he felt strong arms lifting him up.
"God Luke is it too hard to walk on the ground? Who the hell trips on air?" Calum tried to hid his giggle.
"Give me your hands." Luke shyly held Calum's hands and let him help him to get up. Luke looked down. Calum dusted them off and lifted Luke's chin up. Which made Luke blush.
"Go wash your hands with cold water." Calum said and let Luke's hand go. Luke could swear he saw the caring look in his eyes.
"I um thank you." He looked at Calum and saw the annoying look an his face. How? Luke thought.
"Yeah." He stuck his hand in his pockets and walked away. Luke rushed to the bathroom. Ran his hands under cold water just like Calum told him to. Luke dried his hands and ran to the class. Luke's first class was French. And Calum was in his class. He ran into the room. He wasn't late for the lesson. Luke saw Calum sitting next to his usual desk.
"Oh god." Luke mumbled. He walked to his desk and sat down. He looked around and saw Calum's friend looking him. He gave him a smile. Calum's friend made his hand shaped like a gun and pretend he was shooting Calum. Luke laughed. He put out his stuff from his bag and place them on his desk. Then suddenly Calum woke up.
"How was the nap?" Luke blurted out. He didn't mean to sound sarcastic. But it did.
"Great actually." Calum didn't care about Luke's sarcastic comment. Luke turned his head away from Calum. But Calum poked Luke.
"What do you want this time?"
"A pencil?" Luke gave Calum a weird look and started to search for a pencil inside his backpack. When he finally found he handed it to Calum.
"Thanks." Maybe he's gonna take notes Luke thought. When he saw the piece of paper in front Calum. The lesson started and Luke turned his attention to the teacher. Luke wrote down a few things and listened to teacher. But after one point he couldn't help himself from looking at Calum. And saw him throwing a piece of paper to his friend. I should learn his name I feel bad that I don't know it Luke thought.
Luke didn't know kids still do that in the classes. Since they were a little old for paper messages. But that didn't hold Calum back. Calum's friend threw the piece of paper to Calum. And it hit Calum in the head. Luke giggled a little but didn't show it to Calum. Cause that'd be awkward. Calum opened the paper and read it. He was thinking what to write next because he was biting his lip and rubbing his chin. As soon as something appeared on Calum's mind a little goofy smile escaped from his mouth. And started to writing his response. Luke wondered what they were talking about that made Calum smiling like a kid. The smile on Calum's face was so natural. Luke couldn't help himself from smiling too.
His smile is pretty cute Luke thought. He reminded Luke a little kid. Luke blushed when he noticed he just thought. The bell rang Luke gathered his things and literally ran out of the class. He looked around for Ashton. But he couldn't find him. He was still mad at Ashton but he couldn't do without him.
It was lunch time and Luke was alone since Ashton wasn't at school. He saw Calum's friends sitting alone. He decided to sit next to him and ask his name. So Luke walked to the table which Calum's friend was sitting. He sat down.
"H-hey." Lilac haired boy looked up from his meal. And smiled.
"Hu." He said while he's eating. Luke was too shy to start the conversation so he looked at his hands and waited for lilac haired guy to say something. He gulped and started to talking.
"Wh-what's your name?" Luke said shyly. Lilac haired boy took another bite from his pizza.
"Michael." He replied.
"You're Luke, right?" Luke nodded.
"Calum was telling me about you in the class." Michael said and they continued talking.
Luke was going to drop by Ashton's place. He was worried. What he did was so rude but Luke couldn't stand a minute with worrying about Ashton.
Ashton wasn't at school that day. He didn't want to go. He didn't sleep or eat. He didn't do anything. He just sat on his bed and stare out of the window.
Luke knocked the door. Lauren opened it.
"Oh my god Luke. You're here. I knew it." Luke was shocked. That was a good way to greet people.
"Well good to see you too Lauren." Luke smiled sarcastically. Lauren grabbed Luke's arm and pulled him in.
"Look Ashton thinks that you hate him. Don't go hard okay?" Luke's eyes widened.
"H-he thinks wh-what?"
"He haven't eaten or slept since yesterday. He's just staring out of his window." Lauren said while they were going upstairs. How could Ashton thought Luke would ever hate him? That made like so sad. Lauren pushed the door and Luke saw Ashton. Sitting on his bed staring.
"Ashton?" Luke said his name. Ashton looked at him. And looked down at his lap. Luke shut the door behind him and walked over to Ashton. Sat next to him.
"Why did you come?" Ashton said while looking down.
"Cause I was worried about you." Ashton looked at Luke tears in his eyes.
"B-but you h-hate me." Luke put his hand on Ashton's cold hands. Light brown haired boy looked at his and Luke's hands.
"What made you think that way?"
"Y-you don't h-hate me?" Luke caught Ashton's tear with his thumb.
"Of course not. You're my bestfriend Ashton. I will never hate you." Luke pulled his bestfriend into a big hug. But Luke's phone started to ring. He pulled it out and opened it.
"Luke there's a guy at out door named Calum."
