"What?"
Luke looked at his boyfriend in shock. He didn't know if he should be happy because his boyfriend's mother finally has gotten in touch with him or if he should be sad cause that mother was the one that left him all alone here in the first place. He was feeling so weird. But of course he couldn't show that to Calum. He just wanted him to be happy. And if he is happy because his mom has found him he should be happy too. But for the record, panting is not a sign of happiness.
"So, um..." Calum tried to explain things but it was obvious that he was tongue tied. Luke didn't do anything. He wasn't there to make Calum more nervous, he was there to soothe him calm him down. So he just waited for Calum to calm down.
After a while Calum staring into emptiness while Luke is playing his hair or stroking his smooth skin, Calum slowly got up from his laying position.
"So, I bet you are waiting for an explanation." he chuckled emotionless. Luke shrugged but he was actually curious about how in hell did this happen out of nowhere.
"Let me start from the beginning. It was like a month ago. Mr. Hemmings called me asking if my last name was Hood and my mother's name was Joy." Luke's eyes widened. His dad asked him the same things. But he didn't want to interrupt Calum so he didn't say anything.
"And when I said yes, that's when it started. You know I have been getting calls and disappearing." Luke nodded.
"Yeah those were the times when I had to go and meet with your dad and approve things about my mom. And everything was fine and it was just me and Mr. Hemmings until today. When I got the call today I thought I had to approve something about her again. But when he told me to come to his office. I should have known it was something serious. When I entered his office there were two men in suits. And I was confused as heck. But it turned out that they were from my mother's company and they were there to tell me that my mom wants to get in touch with me." Calum looked down. Luke was seriously speechless. He never thought this many thing could be happening behind his back. Heck it was his boyfriend and dad. Like how could he not find it out?
"How are you feeling about it?" He asked. He cared about Calum's feelings. In this situation the only thing mattered to him was Calum and only Calum. He didn't care about that woman who left his Calum alone to face this cold world alone.
"I don't know? Nervous? Worried? Mad? A little excited?" He said, maybe more like he asked to himself. He honestly couldn't tell what he was feeling at the exact moment. There were too many emotions and there was only himself trying to figure out things.
"Well if you're happy then," Luke didn't finish his sentence and smiled widely while caressed Calum's arm.
"Yeah, I'm happy." Calum said. But he knew deep inside he was not. It was bothering him. He didn't want to do this. He wanted his mother not to find him forever. He was happy with Luke. He even dreamed about his future. Here. With Luke.
His grades were getting better since they started to date. He really was thinking about going to a college and Luke was definitely going to one. They could still work out he knew it. He would just go to somewhere near here. He loved it here. And when they were done with it, they could get settled and maybe even get a dog. He imagined it so perfectly. But he forgot something. There was nothing such as nothing in life.
Calum squeezed his eyes shut and dug his head into Luke's stomach, wrapping his arms around his torso as well. He didn't want to let go of all these things he had now.
"It's alright." Luke tried to assure him but deep down inside he also knew something was off. But he didn't want to find out.
They stayed like that for a few hours. Luke whispering Calum assuring things feeling uneasy but doing it anyways. Calum feeling guilty. But not ready to letting Luke go. So he just wrapped his arms tighter around Luke's torso when he said he had to go. It was nearly 7pm.
