When I told Misaki about the guy I ran into and described him, she went crazy. "NO THAT NICE GUY IS THE STUPID PRESIDENT IT MUST BE OKAY HE IS A JERK DON'T TRUST HIM WHATEVER HE SAYS HE JUST ACTS NICE GET IT HE'S PROBABLY PLANNING TO DO SOMETHING TO YOU AND LIKE I DONT KNOW GET SOMETHING OUT OF YOU???"
I make a run for my room and lock the door, leaving Misaki in the living room with the I'm-gonna-kill-you look on her face. Scary. I get why the people at Seika call her the demon president.
Okay but he did seem quite nice...? Maybe Misaki is just biased. (As the history teachers say, she probably has vested interest. )
Misaki knocks on my door. "COME OUT," she yells. But she sounds less angry now (believe me, I can tell after being her younger cousin for years). So I tentatively open the door a little.
Misaki stands there, arms folded. "Okay listen. Mayumi mentioned that the elections in your school are coming. You need to run for President."
My jaw drops. Is she joking? ME? I can barely open my mouth to strangers as it is.
Misaki smirks. "Come on. I want to unseat that jerk."
I hold up my hands. "So you just want me to sort of avenge you?"
Misaki shrugs. "Guess so. Will you do it or not?"
She gives me a death glare. If I wasn't so used to it, I would probably have been buried in a cemetery somewhere already. I shake my head. "No!"
Misaki places her hands on her hips. "You know what, I'll give you some time. Once your tiny eyes open to how evil he is you'll come back and tell me you want to unseat him."
I slam the door in her face.
Sometimes what my cousin needs is a slap in the face. Really. Not that I'd dare.
The doorbell rings and I hear the door open. Probably Suzuna, my younger cousin. They like to come here after school sometimes.I don't come out of my room though.
--time skip-- (sorry can't think so I keep doing this)
The next day, I walk to the vending machines level of the cafeteria block alone. Mayumi is having a later break today so I'll just eat myself. And Yuki is absent. As for Hikari, I tried to find her but she's either always studying or running away to beat the queues. I never seem to find her.
Someone walks next to me. I see the shadow on the ground. "We meet again, (Y/N)," a voice says.
Great, just the person I wanted to see.
"Hi."
"Why are you still wearing a jacket?" he asks, confused.
I want to laugh. It's awesome how everyone thinks Mayumi and I are crazy for wearing our jackets. "I felt like it."
"It's so hot," he says, gesturing around. Then I see some tall guy next to him and another one behind him. What, personal bodyguards? Seriously?
I shrug. "I'm feeling cold."
I walk faster. Almost there, then I can just squeeze through the crowd and disappear from his gaze.

After the girl went to the cafeteria block, Tora chuckled to himself. That girl was so weird. Definitely different from the other shallow girls who threw themselves at him.
From the shadows, Maki spoke. "You seem interested."
Tora laughed aloud. "Quite. Talking to her is just as satisfying as ASMR."
Maki grinned to himself. Then his expression turned more serious. "I have something to tell you."
Tora gestured to his bodyguards and they obediently retreated, melting into the shadows until they were needed again. He paused and exchanged a few words with Maki.
Maki bowed and said "My father has ordered me to expand the butler cafes in other parts of Japan and Asia. I will be leaving school for a while. I apologise, but I have to step down."
Tora eyed him warily, and his expression became cold and arrogant again.
Maki bowed. "I apologise once again."
Tora sighed. "Understood. I will choose a new Vice-President."
Maki nodded. "As to that, I have a recommendation. (Y/N) (L/N) would be perfect."
The President of Miyabigaoka Student Council smirked. "You know me so well, Maki."
----
Damn, even the vending machine food tastes nice here. I buy one more packet to treat Suzuna. I feel bad for Misaki and Suzuna. I mean Misaki has to work at a maid cafe to earn enough money for the family. I offered to help once, but Misaki's mother turned me down. I know better than to ask again.
Seriously, though, eating bunny apples all the time would be pretty boring right? I grab the packet of chips I bought for the sisters out of the vending machines when the school's speaker, above my head, comes to life.
" (Y/N)(L/N) please come to the President's room now. I repeat: (Y/N)(L/N) please come to the President's room now."
Oh no.
