Cuddles hopped out of bed when her alarm went off in the morning, it was around 7am and she felt very rested. She opened her drawer and put her pink, bunny themed, slippers on and went downstairs for breakfast. Today was the day she would start learning how to use roller skates. She was so excited because she already knew how to skateboard, so this would be just as easy. She ate her breakfast in a rush and tossed the placsic bowl and metal spoon into the sink for later, then rushed out of her house. She nodded at herself and facepalmed as she walked back inside to grab her new roller skates and lock the door. She put the two, pink, skates on and held herself up with the wall; the slippers lay forgotten on her porch. She slowly skated down her driveway, getting a hang of being on her feet and sliding. She smiled in bliss as she carefully skated down the sidewalk, she decided to see if she could skate around Happy Tree Town without falling or getting hurt. She skated into town, using more caution then needed, and started getting fast and more used to skating as she went through. She lapped the town a few times before something in a shop window caught her eye. She stopped suddenly and almost fell, curious about what the colorful thing was.
They were rainbow colored skates that had bright LED's on the wheels for nighttime skating. She smiled excitedly, making it her mission to get those skates before anyone else did. She went inside the store, carefully, not trying to fall as she slowly slid over to the window. She stared at the pair of skates she saw and felt like she was in hevean, then saw the price tag. They were so cheap and she wondered why, so she went to the back of the store to talk to the red squirrel at the desk. She asked why such amazing skates were so low and he had no clue what she was talking about. He told her they were 100 coins and she gasped loudly. The first thought that came to her head was, "Maybe if I check the couch cushions I can find enough for them!" but quickly shook the dumb idea away.
She tried to reason with him, maybe he could sell it to her for 50 coins. After a while of talking, they agreed on 75 coins and she sighed. That was all she had with her, she knew she would be working extra for the next few weeks to save up again. He sold the pair of skates to her and she took them, happily, home. She pulled off her previous skates and tried on the new ones, they fit so perfectly she sighed in pure joy. She stood up and skated out of her living room, carefully skating out the door and closing it behind her. They glided easily against the bumpy ground and were very smooth feeling, she enjoyed the feeling and decided to lap the town again. On her third time going around the town she could feel she was faster and better then before. Then she tripped, one of her wheels stopped moving. She sat up and rubbed her head and her knees, then checked her skates. Something was logged in between the two wheels and she tried to get it out. It eventually came out and it was a very small pebble, she rolled her eyes and sighed. Then spotted the shop by her.
In the window, a glorious pair of blue, white, and black roller skates were there. She pressed her face against the window after she stood up in excitement. They were super expensive and she knew she couldn't afford them; but she really wanted them. So she went into the store and talked to the red squirrel, she gave him the rainbow skates and he traded them for the blue ones. She put them on and they fit perfectly but when she got outside the skates' wheels locked up and wouldn't move. She tripped and face planted against the cement, and it came to her what had just happened. She got scammed for shitty skates! She stood up and angrily knocked on the glass door, but saw the red squirrel come over and switch the open sing to "closed". She sighed and took them off, she left them at the front of the store and walked home barefoot. She got into her home and closed the door sadly, she leaned up against it and buried her face in her fluffy, yellow, paws. She looked up and saw a blue squirrel in her living room holding 75 coins and the rainbow skates.
He apologized for his enemy and gave her the skates she deserved, she thanked him deeply and set them by her door. He saluted her and flew out the window, breaking her glass. She stared in disbelief and set the skates by the door, then yawned.
She planned to skate tomorrow and knew those skates were good enough.
